I haven't been on RC for ages....thank god I saw this thread as I usually just update when I open CCP. I have a couple of MX-980's and a MX-880 that we use.
Currently have V4.0.1106.2, URCFRAME.exe has the following details, Created: July 2009, Modified Dec 2020
So I guess I'll be keeping that one! I have modded my url.ini file to be blank(saved the old one as urlolddontuse.ini , don't get the update popup anymore and program seems to run fine.
To get any new updates, is the following correct procedure 1: Make a copy of current URCFrame.exe, place on desktop or wherever 2: Run update, delete newly modified URCFrame.exe and put the old one back in
Sorry don't have any other PC's I can try this on to see if it works otherwise I'd give it a go
Cheers

Looks like URC turned off new registrations for end users on their www.URCportal.com website. It has gone back to how it used to be where you had to be a dealer or partner to be able to register and get access to the software. EDIT: Nevermind, looks like it’s still available via [Link: urcportal.com]

I don't understand the big deal here.
I had a copy of CCP. Opened it up and told me to go to the portal to register
Asked for me remote serial number. Typed it in and said it was not valid, but then stated they would give me access as an end user.
When I verify my email address on their portal, it says I am eligible for updates and to use the program

Thanks to all of those here who have helped me navigate through the process of registering for the login to the URC software update site. I've been using the program for years on my various URC remotes that I purchased from Surf Remote. Now that I'm registered I notice that there's still the pop-up when I launch Complete Control with the message that in order to continue using it I'll have to register. I'm hoping URC doesn't shift gears on us again blocking the end users.
And also a big shoutout to gbrown91 for instructions on how to display the program properly on a 4k monitor... I'm a Mac user so there's no way I could've figured it out on my own.
And my last comment is I'm still using the MCS-400 Base Station which requires 32-bit Windows. I see that I can still program it on my 64-bit Windows 11 software but I'm guessing that I won't be able to upload it to the unit once programming is done?

On my Mac, I run Windows 10 32-bit on Parallels for Mac (as a virtual machine). Works great with MSC400 upload & download .

I was running 32-bit Windows 7 on Parallels on my 2019 MacBook, but when I upgraded to the new M1 MacBook Pro it wouldn't support it anymore. I'm hoping for someone to come up with a workaround but that seems pretty unlikely.

Parallels 17 only supports Windows 10 & 11 As you say, Windows 7 is not supported Providing Parallels supports Windows 10 32 bit, that would be your best (and probably only) option Windows 11 doesn't have a 32 bit version, so that will not work with the MSC400.

Windows 11 doesn't have a 32 bit version, so that will not work with the MSC400. Unfortunately for me although Parallels 17 does support 32-bit versions and did work on my Intel MacBook, it will not on the new the M1 chip on my MacBook Pro.
