Hi, I recently had an "expert" installer program my URC Genesis 900 and although things seem to be working fine, the only way my surround sound works is with a "cinema" setting on my new Denon 3313. Is this right?? Where is the Dolby digital?? Please help with the proper settings. Thanks

It's got nothing to do with the URC, it's in the receiver settings. Make sure you have a digital input for audio, either HDMI or Optical/COAX, and that the input you're using is set to that for audio. Most receivers will have an Auto setting and switch to whatever is being broadcast.

it could be that the installer decided to add a command in the URC to always put the denon into cinema mode.  why not ask him?

You may be correct in regards to the audio connections. He did post another thread in which the Denon was bricked during a firmware update and he had it replaced, and it seems installed it himself. So if he was not aware that digital connections needed to be made, and setup properly in the menu, it is very conceivable that this is the issue.

I do have to ask why you (OP) referred to the person who programmed the remote as an "expert" installer. Was he not very good?
