the IR In still will not turn it on.

But all other commands work using the rear IR input?

Tried a factory reset?

Certain you are plugged into the top emitter port labeled IN, correct? (not trying to be a smart-ass, I've done stupid things similar to that too).

That's about all I have. I mean if the other commands are working via the IR input on the back and the P-ON works via line of site and IR emitter, I'm out of ideas. Contact Matt and in the meantime suck it up and use an emitter on the front?

p.s. what happens if you test P-ON via the rear IR port within CCP, not from the remote?

Yes all other commands work using the rear IR port

I also reset the micro processor

Yep double checked I had in the top right below the RS 232

Most of the testing has been done within CCP

Hang on a second. Lowhz asked if you had Network Standby set to ON. You replied you had Auto Standby set to a certain value. That's a different setting in the setup menu. Goto Network and choose Always ON. Make sure Network Standby is set to ON and turn off any and all items relating to CEC / HDMI control. Try that.

Now that I think of it, why do you need the "On" command to work?

I am currently programming an MX1200 for a Denon AVR4520, and it occurred to me that I never use the "On" command, since my macros always use the input command to turn the AVR on.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to get to the bottom of it... but in practice, I won't be using the "On" command.

My 4520 should arrive tomorrow, and I will try to test it when I get back in the office late tomorrow afternoon.

Pressing an input button will only turn this AVR on by line of sight

This makes zero sense. Line of site, meaning IR, meaning should work via RF which is simply sending IR signals via RF technology to a basestation, and then delivered via an emitter, or in your case the rear IR input.

I am in total agreement

To sum it up

ON Command (Either by using an input any discreet code)

RF
Works with IR Emitter
Does work with IR Blast
Does not work with rear IR input

All commands work line of sight

Since the IR Blast does not work one would think it is
an issue with the MRF 350 OTOH since the IR emitter
works then maybe the Denon rear IR input is the culprit.

I just tried (using a MX-1200/MRF-350) Power On using the rear IR port, and it works.

Used URCIR codeset 1324

FYI, the new code set that is labeled AVR-3313 (#1556) doesn't seem to work at all on the AVR4520, and I doubt it will work on the 3313, since it is a new code set and I've used 1324 on several 3313 units this year. This is typical URC IRDB crap. I think the guys that maintain the URC IRDB are constantly doing 'shrooms, as it takes a while for them to get it right.

Thanks FP Crazy

I have a remote and MRF 350 coming for another job so I will try and narrow
it down to the Denon.

DLUM,

Did you ever get the 4520 to ever accept the power on command thru the rear IR port. I am having the same issue with mine.

Anyone ever figure out what the issue with turning on the AVR-4520 via the rear IR input jack. I have a Harmony One paired with a Xantech IR distribution block and everything works on the 4520 EXCEPT powering on.
