The unit has power, but locks on the Nevo logo screen
during power-up. The representative from mynevo.com determined
the Nevo ID "was lost" during a failed firmware update
and the unit needs to be replaced. I purchased online
and do not have the benefit of a "storefront" to walk
into. I can't believe there is no way to force a "flash"
to reset the remote back to original in the event of a
situation like this.
This is the exact reason that you shouldn't buy online, especially when the product is restricted by the manufacturer. These remotes are to be sold only by trained and certified Dealers.
While I was typing this, I thought about one more thing. Make sure that the power switch is slid all the way to the "on" position. It's a three-position switch, and the screen will lock if the switch is in the wrong position, if I remember correctly.
