Beever:

Take a look HERE at the winning entrant in the Pronto Pro contest. It is by and large based on the colour blue, with judicious use of other colours. The second place entrant is based on brown tones. Other CCF's in the contest had multiple colours, but the judges obviously thought that the winning entrant considered more than just incorporating 256 colours, and were pleased with the CCF even though it was centered on the colour blue.

You can put all the colours you want in the world in your CCF, and it can be ugly and non-functional. The other entrants incorporated colour in various ways, and were quite good looking and functional. But having 256 colours is not a pre-requisite for a great CCF.

Just because you have 256 colours doesn't mean you have to use them.

Ask any designer. Do you use 256 different colours in your living room? I would suggest that a professional designer certainly wouldn't. Prudent use of colour can make something look fantastic, AND more functional. Check out the other entrants in the Pronto contest that show this. (And other examples in the CCF listing on this site.) Imprudent use can make it a disaster.

That being said, both Daniel and Darnitol's CCF's are excellent. As are a goodly number of others on this site. Both for their design quality and their functionality. And that includes those that are black and white!

Saying that a CCF (or anything else for that matter) is "kindergarten" stuff is not only insulting to those who have taken the time and effort to create their CCF's and upload them to this site, but it is an offense to those of us who are users of this site.

If you want to criticize, be constructive. Not rude and offensive.

I hope you come back and re-evaluate your comments and also provide a CCF that meets YOUR requirements for a professional design.

When you can do as good or better, THEN you can talk. Until then, well......... you know!
