I must confess to holding stong reservations about the
remaking of (what I consider to be) classic films.
On reading the news article, I "fired" up my copy on DVD. Been a while, it's still a classic and the theme is still as stirring as ever.
However, with Peter Jackson involved (his King Kong was, after
all, pretty darned good) maybe, just maybe, it'll be worth
the effort.
I agree he has the flair to remake a classic and the LOTR series was not that bad either. To me though he will have to use Eric Coates' music or else it won't be the Dambusters!
And I agree with Jay In Chicago, whatever Jackson does he'll "make it one hell of a movie"
