[Link: news.bbc.co.uk]I must confess to holding stong reservations about the remaking of (what I consider to be) classic films. However, with Peter Jackson involved (his King Kong was, after all, pretty darned good) maybe, just maybe, it'll be worth the effort.

Even with that modest budget, I'm sure he will make it one hell of a movie... Can't wait to see the first trailer.
How can you even go wrong with bouncing bombs the blow up damns and ... well you know... Minus the deaths and economic impact it's what we all want to do each day anyhow!

I must confess to holding stong reservations about the remaking of (what I consider to be) classic films. On reading the news article, I "fired" up my copy on DVD. Been a while, it's still a classic and the theme is still as stirring as ever. However, with Peter Jackson involved (his King Kong was, after all, pretty darned good) maybe, just maybe, it'll be worth the effort. I agree he has the flair to remake a classic and the LOTR series was not that bad either. To me though he will have to use Eric Coates' music or else it won't be the Dambusters! And I agree with Jay In Chicago, whatever Jackson does he'll "make it one hell of a movie"

Well, heck! If we're doing wish lists, I'd like to see this one. Momma says he's related though grandma and uncle Jesse and so on... Actually... I've gotta watch this movie again. I think he reminds me of me. [Link: imdb.com]

An interview with Peter Jackson, talking about the Dambusters. Seems he's still not sure what to do about the dog. [Link: aintitcool.com]
