I'm not sure exactly of your definination of "Device" vs. "Task", but for me "Device" would be per physical device: TV, VCR1, VCR2, Receiver, DSS, etc. All buttons from the original remotes would be reproduced under each device. This is the default way the Pronto operates.

For "Task" you'd have various tasks, like "Watch a DVD Movie", and under that task you'd have all buttons that relate to it: DVD transport controls, receiver sound setup, television picture control, etc. This is the way the IRIQ/Take Control operate by default. The Pronto should be configurable as such via the software. Personally I prefer my remote to be mainly "by device" with task-oriented macros.
