Do you have a link to the Sony IP control issues? I've never run across a Sony running Android TV (or now Google TV) where IP control didn't work. And RS-232 is still standard on many Sony as well.
I've been battling with a couple of these for a while now and have considered going to RS-232, bu that still doesn't get me the ability to use the MiniApp. In addition to this, they are S L O W to function.
I don't think we get teh 32" Q series over here (at least not that I have seen). The only real premium Samsung at that size is a frame, which I try to avoid when it's not completely necessary.
