Howdy all,

As the title suggests, I've recently encountered the disappearance of IP control on Samsung's 8000 series (and below) TVs. Their premium models still have it. Not sure if this is just an Australian problem, but so far I've found no resolve via firmware/hidden settings etc.

There's no longer any options to select if in their advanced menus, nor in the service menus, and obviously they no longer respond to any pairing commands from C4, despite using the certified driver for the exact models.

This also seems to have come at the same time that they've introduced all of the bloat-ware on their range, as well.

It's becoming a major issue as Sony has also acknowledged that their late model panels go to sleep and disappear from the network after a few hours of off-time, meaning they won't wake-on-LAN, and as-yet, there is no solution. This also means no Mini-App switching.

Are we really going full-circle back to IR control and emitters now?

With both Sony and Samsung effectively out of the IP-control picture, it looks like LG is about the only option that works semi-reliably.

Cheers,

Rob.
