One of my clients had the honor of buying the first Pioneer PDP in the area. His cost was 19K, and I made 5K on the sale. Still working and looking pretty good as well.
Man, those were the days.. :-)
We were wiring a huge house right when the 50" pioneer was a hot item. This house had like 8 fireplaces all built with boxes for the plasmas to go above them. When the house was trimmed out and it was time to pull the trigger the client only bought 1. I remember him saying "$20k is way too much to spend on a TV, besides...these things will be $3000 in a year". The reason i will never forget about that is because he was standing on a $12000 zebra skin rug that they put under the chess table in the living room.
