You are not alone. We put a TPMC-3X with a larger touchpanel. Either wired or a TPMC-8X. We used the RTI T2-C before the 3X became available.
The iphone as a remote is a neat toy for techy types who can easily manage multiple remotes. The ipad though.. IMO its a replacement for the TPMC-8X and anything AMX or control 4 has to offer. It kicks the hell out of them in every category.. wifi range battery life and resolution.
