That's not a great deal, you please download an user manual tells you how to program your remote. You can just check it with your code. Before you program it with your remote control, will automatically work with Comcastcable box but you need to program the remote in order to work with TV.

I have a motorola DCT3412/2305 set-top box and a light silver remote with red ok button.

Remote has been working fine for ages now all of a sudden it's not.
Remote still works fine for TV.
I see light emitting from the remote through my phones camera.
Tried using a few of the codes mentioned within this thread (01376 01982 etc.) but they aren't working for me.
I don't remember the code I used to unlock it but it seemed to be locked because once I entered it in I got 4 blinks on the CBL button. I then proceeded through the set up codes again, and although every 5 digit code I put in gives me 2 blinks once done, the remote still fails to respond.
I've also tried doing the resets (980 and 981) but not sure if they took. I read 3FG saying it was the last thing to try.

Anyway, I'm now thoroughly confused.

I haven't seen the model number for my box within the thread so I figured I'd create an account and post a reply to ask if there was anything I'm missing.

The setup code should be 01376. The problem is probably in the cable box rather than the remote.  Try removing the power cord for a few minutes, and reconnecting.  Once the box is done initializing, check if the remote works.

I unplugged the box for a few minutes then turned it on and let it initialize.

Then I pressed Cable on my remote then held set up until cable button blinked twice.

Then I entered 01376 and the cable button blinked twice. I then pressed power and nothing. Tried changing channels...nothing.

So unfortunately, for me, unplugging the box didn't work.

All other button on the box work fine. We can change the channels from the box and everything.

Even though everything works on the box you still think it is the box and not the remote?

Could I have cleared any codes from the remote by chance (with everything else I've tried)? Just want to make sure before I call Comcast.

The 981 reset will clear out any custom programming that Comcast may have put in, but that won't stop it from doing all of the basic commands.  Sorry, I don't have any other suggestions.

I have a Motorola DCT700/US cable box and just got a darker gray remote with a red okay button (also has "xfinity" on it where my last one did not). Can't get the remote to control the set-top at all.

Unlock the cable setup code with:
1) Press setup until 2 blinks
2) Enter 982  
The remote should blink 4 times.  If it blinks twice, repeat steps 1 and 2.

Then
1) Press Cable
1) Press setup until 2 blinks
2) Enter 01376
The remtoe should blink twice.

hi i have a motorola DCH 3200 box...i dont know what code the tech used to program the tv..but that is the only thing that is working via the remote. can anyone help me control my box..it worked for 2 minutes then shit the bed.

I need your help with my Comcast Motorola box. Remote is gray with red OK button. Buttons in box don't work. the only one that works is power on and off. only certain buttons in Remote work (like ch+ and Ch- , the numbers and volume on TV). Buttons for TV guide, info, last, etc not working either on remote or box. Any advise? I tried resetting remote, unplug from power the box so it would reset but that does not work either.  That description sounds like it is a box problem, and if unplugging it didn't help, it's time to ask for a replacement.  Just for completeness, check that the LED  in the remote's Cable button does flash when pressing the non-functioning buttons.

I have a Motorola RNG200N and I just recently received my replacement remote. Its the silver one with the red OK button. I was able to program my Insignia TV to the comcast remote only to turn the volume up or down. The cable box isnt responding to the remote but i took my camera phone and I saw the light. I have also tried all of the codes prior to reading the comments/posts. Can you help me? Its so frustrating and comcast does nothing.

Pay attention to the blinks.  If it only blinks once, then the setup code wan't accepted.
