We have not had any remote issues this year, not even battery issues. I am looking ahead finally to some smooth sailing.

Sent back another T2c from a job last summer, sold 2 remotes and this is the 3rd that has went back. Had a rare T1 be bad out of the box, and the battery issue is just a crying shame IMHO.

For a $1300 remote design have way decent f&ckin battery!! I am having the guys bring back all bad RTI batteries and we will be sending them back to RTI. Sent 7 back a few weeks ago and the pile is already growing, I wish I would have thought of this earlier.

You may take a second look at Prodigy. They are discontinuing the PLX2 and have a new package that will be a PMC2+PTX3, starts shipping the end of this month. This will also open up the Infinet lighting expanding the system from controllable switches up to 100.

The more I work with Prodigy the more I like it. If you are already Crestron Dealers then you'll like it even more. We are very limited being Prodigy only, not only to products but also to training.

Oh and the projected MSRP for the PMC2/PTX3 combo will be $1000-$1100. The PAMP is shipping now as well, rounding this out as a very competitive system that can do more than the competition.

We are Niles dealers and I was comparing to ZR6 and Nuvo Essentia G with either an RTI or URC solution for the media room and the Prodigy system stacks up very nicely with more flexibility and growth potential.

Oh, don't forget iPhone/Touch App, Xpanel and remote access.

I didn't realize they were discontinuing the PLX-2 but I am glad they are. I have seen the PTX3 remote and have been excited about it as I thought it would be our replacement for the T2-C which is by far our best selling remote.

We are probably going to recommend the T1-B as our entry level control product with the Prodigy package as the step up package.

I dont see us using the RTI touch-panel stuff anymore.

Thanks for the info!

I'd like to add that I have also looked into the Prodigy system and it cannot compare to any RTI system with an XP-8. I understand that the XP-8 is more than what is being discussed above but I appreciate the added features.

At the XP-8 price point you are looking at comparing the Crestron series 2 processors, like the MC2E. The entry level prodigy retails at $700 or so I believe for both the remote and the processor. Half of just the XP-8.

yeah MC2E should be compared to a T1B and RP1. No comparison at that price point. Even the ZRP6 doesn't get you half the functionality of the MC2E(iphone, 2-way touch panels, IP, web interface....) The prodigy line does need a T2* type remote. The PTX3 is kind of in between the T2C and T3V, more like the MX5000. I am just scared from Pronto to sell a T3V or a remote without numeric keypad like the PTX3. if the price point comes in at $1000 retail that will be a hell of a device though.

I've learned that the T2C is a delicate instrument and needs to be treated as such. One drop and it's done! I tell all my clients that the T2C should be treated like a computer, if you drop it, it'll break, so don't drop it!

As others have said. An XP-8 has the same MSRP as a full series 2 Crestron processor which can run circles around the XP8. The PMC2 Prodigy processor can run circles around every other RTI processor. I think the PRodigy system as a whole can be on par with and in some ways outshine a medium sized XP8 System.

* The touchscreen control costs less than an RK3
* Touchscreen remote and Processor $700 less than the XP8 alone
* 2-way Ipod dock with Video (zero control ports)
* Remote access
* Xpanel
* Iphone/touch control
* inexpensive DA option
* Inexpensive Tstat control
* easy to add lighting
* completely open architecture

This continues one from what I was saying above. Where the Prodigy system will really shine is a small system with at least 3-4 zones of DA. Sure $1k may be too much for a remote and processor for some projects, but compare RTI + DA of your choice TO Prodigy with DA.

For example. T1-B with RP1 and a NO FEEDBACK Niles ZR4 = $2300 (no ipod)

Or T1-B/RP1/ZR6/ 2-TS pro (touchscreen KPs) 2-basic KP's = $4220

Prodigy (touchscreen Remote) 4 zone DA with basic keypads = $2520, however you get a color touchscreen remote, Iphone/Touch control and tons of expandability.

Or, Prodigy PMC2/PTX3/PAMP/ 2-PTL4, 2-basic KPs, plus Ipod Dock = $3980
Plus you get all the benefits of Crestron Prodigy, iphone, xpanel and open architecture to integrate whatever you want.

The only real thing lacking on the PMC2 is 12v triggers and Sense ports, but for the price, nothing compares. IMO

I'm finding that a single PTL4 with basic keypads or even VC's combined with a great media room remote and the Iphone control can meet most budgets no problem and offer WAY more growth WITHOUT upgrading/replacing product, but instead just adding to.

I understand you might be another crestron fan boy but with all your respect sir I think for you to compare the prodigy series to the xp8 is just wrong. with other lower end rti processor yeah but not their xp8... hell I don't even install or program neither of them but I have been doing my homework for the past months on deciding which one to take on.. can you answer this for me.. what's the maximum of DA zones you can have with either prodigy and xp8

I think prodigy has a lot of potential in years to come when more products come out etc... but for now, it can't be compared to the rti xp8...

also i think it would have been nice if the pro crestron inwalls and panels were compatible with prodigy... i guess it's a different architecture then? a nice bridge in between the two would have been nice.

The XP-8 in and of its self cannot do any DA zones, WTF are you talking about?? Prodigy is becoming a full line up of amps, t-stats, keypads, and so on all self contained. In my eyes 2 different animals... RTI only has the ability to control others products, which has been there claim all along.

Well "Mr know it all" I very well know xp8 is unable to do DA. maybe i didn't illustrate my point well.. What I tried to say in general is that at this time comparing XP8 and prodigy line is like comparing apples and oranges.. prodigy can't "yet"provide the flexibility etc.. that xp8 does.

When I met with the Crestron roduct manager my idea of prodigy was that it was a quite affordable yet limited system and they plan on keeping it that way. however it does include essential features which we all appreciate for that price point!.

obviously you don't understand the xp-8 which is a processor....prodigy is a system...and you did ask how many DA zones it can do

I have 15 or so T3-V zigbee enabled remotes currently installed. We have no problems with the T3-V itself, but more so on the back end... Zigbee ZM-24 meshing issues.
