I've successfully used SNL 2.0.0.1 to create a CD List and modify my CCF. Everything works. However the bars and labels for artists and titles are small and hard to read on my TSU 2000. I tried using the font features in the list edit advanced tab, but that just caused the disc numbers to spill over the buttons. The artist and titles remained font size remained very small.
Have I missed something? Are there larger bars and buttons that can be placed in the BMP_Override subdirectory that would allow for larger fonts - 12 or 14 pt?
Thanks Jerry

The largest font allowed for the center bars and bottom links is 10 points. The reason is that the height of the area is only 17 pixels, 15 pixels for Bottom Links.
This cannot be changed simply by creating larger images in the Override subdirectory. This requires a program/layout change and is not available at this time.
The are 2 checkboxes on the Advanced List Options for Larger Font and Larger Font (Bottom Links). Selecting these checkboxes indicates you want the 10 point font. Unchecking these boxes specifies to use the 8 point font.

Thanks for the quick response.
If there is chance to allow for larger (12 - 14 pt) artist and title fonts in the future that would be great for those of us who have progressive lenses :).
Thanks again. Jerry

Jerry,
I can't make any promises to how soon this might occur. However, I have been wondering just how much effort it be to add an alternate layout such that I could extend the height of each entry to 34 pixels. The result would be a single button across the width of the panel to make an entry a single button 34 pixels high. Please continue to check back for newer versions. Version 2.0.0.X was entirely built from input from users.
Thanks for your feedback.
Sincerely, Lyndel McGee

Lyndel,
I see what you are saying. I'll keep checking back.
I'm really new at this and everyone here is so very helpful. Thanks for considering this.

Hope you are all enjoying Version 2.0.0.3.
I have done some digging as to requests to support something other than the 'Device' side of the remote. I'm sad to report that the only option that we will have available in the near future is support to generate Lists on the MacroGroup side of the remote. The Hard-Button functionality is severely crippled thanks to the Pronto Remotes. Marantz users have full support for hard buttons.
I am in the process of making the last set of enhancements for a while that shall be deemed as Version 2.0.0.3a or should I go for 2.0.0.4?
Included is this list will be....
1) Support for generation of lists on the Macrogroup side of the remote.
2) Support an additional layout for the visually challenged. This layout will display list items as the 240 x 34 pixel buttons for each list item.
I am posting this as I would like some feedback from the user community about how I should layout the text on the buttons. Should I allow for left/right padding with Spaces to allow one to put an icon on the button images?
As a result of new image requirements, I propose to create new Image Filenames for list items such that they do not conflict with the existing filenames.
Proposed Set of Filenames TBD...
Large_List_Button.bmp Large_List_Button_AU.bmp Large_List_Button_AS.bmp Large_List_Button_AS_1.bmp Large_List_Button_AU_1.bmp Large_List_Button_AS_2.bmp Large_List_Button_AU_2.bmp Large_List_Button_AS_3.bmp Large_List_Button_AU_3.bmp Large_List_Button_AS_4.bmp Large_List_Button_AU_4.bmp Large_List_Button_AS_5.bmp Large_List_Button_AU_5.bmp Large_List_Button_AS_6.bmp Large_List_Button_AU_6.bmp
Large_Continuation_Button.bmp Large_Continuation_Button_AU.bmp Large_Continuation_Button_AS.bmp
I would also like your opinion on the text for the buttons. For example:
"[135] Back In Black" (Disc# 135) "[ 35] For Those About To Rock" (Disc# 35) "(135) Back In Black" (Disc# 135) "135 - Back In Black" (Disc# 135)
Back In Black (Don't display Disc #135)
And... Do we want Left/Right Padding to shift the text to the Right/Left?
This release will not be due out for a while so go ahead and download 2.0.0.3 and have fun.
In the future, in the interest of the Graphically challenged, I will be working on some themes for the Color Remotes to hopefully get things rolling.
If you would like to be considered for Beta Testing, please shoot me an email with an email address where you can receive emails up to 2.5 MB in size.
Thanks, Lyndel

I think the problem with left/right padding is right padding of v. long names.

I've got another format to consider for the disk labels: 135: Back in Black
Also, I don't recall the name of the other continuation files, but I thought the following would conform to the others better: Large_List_Button_Ctd.bmp
As for padding, I would initially want the text to be centered, but I can see why you would want padding. Perhaps you could put in a option for the end user to pick the padding.

Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a way to have the discs alphabatized within the Artist panel instead on having it listed by disc number?
For example: E-->Elton John-->Duets, Greatest Hits 1, Greatest Hits 2, Greatest Hits 3, etc.
Right now its: Greatest Hits 1 (disc 1) Duets (disc 2), Greatest Hits 3 (disc 3), Greatest Hits 2 (disc 4).
It seems the only way to do this is manually, but that's not really an option at 500 discs!

Yes, Mike, you are missing something. You must put on your "thinking" cap to figure it out.
I want to share settings/images with other users. How do I do this?
Template Support - Share your images and List Color/Font Settings
Version 2.0.0.3 may have appeared to some to be a "minimal" release but the new features enable users to do some powerful things not available in other releases such as sharing settings with other users. One can use the 'Copy From..." on the 'Advanced List Options' to copy Color/Font settings from one list to another very easily. This feature empowers a user such that he/she may create an 'Empty' List for use as a template, copy all color settings using 'Copy From...' and then export the 'Empty' list using the XML export capability (NOTE: CSV export does not save List Settings, only List Data) to share color settings with other users. Remember that you also must copy all image (*.BMPs) in the respective "Override" folder(s).
We don't have a Global Sort-All button. My items are not sorted correctly, Why?
Tips on Sorting Discs/Artists within a List
There is no Global Sort Button currently available within SuperNudelist. Sorting must be done manually at each level - List and Artist. Tracks for a Disc are sorted automatically by number.
For both Artists and Discs, sorting is determined by the text in the following entries.
SortAsName (Only used if not empty/blank) Name
Users typically specify a Name such as 'The Beatles' but a SortAsName of 'Beatles, The'. This forces the Artist/Disc to be sorted by 'B' instead of 'T'.
Once you have specified SortAsName for each item that is not sorted appropriately, you must manually click 'Sort' or check the 'Keep Sorted' box at each level - List or Artist.
If you have a large number of discs this can be very time consuming. However, there is a workaround but it does require that you download and install Version 2.0.0.3.
1. Export each list to a CSV file choosing to export all items in columns 1-11.
2. Use MS Excel or some other utility to sort/edit the CSV file as you see fit.
3. Use the new 'destructive' import functionality of Version 2.0.0.3 to reimport your edited CSV file. Any sorting you would like to see must be done prior to importing data.
If you need more info on 'destructive' import functionality. Read the functional release notes for Version 2.0.0.3.

OK, I consider myself very proficient with computers and programming, and I for the life of me have no idea what is going wrong. Background: I have all of my MP3's stored on an MP3 server(a computer running Windows XP) picture: I have a Pronto Pro. I created a CSV file with all of my albums/songs listed in them: the first column corresponds to a play list I created while the CSV file was being generated: What a play list looks like: Now the problems: First, I can't get the track info to appear in the Import list: Second, I don't want a seperate device for each Album that I have, I just want them under one device, "mp3s". I don't want this: Third, I am using IRMan to accept the IR transmissions, but since I am using the CSV, I have no idea how I automate the process of linking the List Name to the Playlist. I don't need individual MP3 access, just Album access, but I would like to be able to at least see the tracks. If that isn't possible either, no big deal. Here is my CSV file: [Link: dealerrater.com]I AM STUMPED :( I have the latest of both SNL and that CCFDII.DLL: Any and all help is appreciated and I would love to have a reason to paypal people money :) Thanks in advance, Chip-

HI
Your CSV file needs to contain your player name and your list name in the first two fields of EACH entry
eg lets say your player(device) name in your CCF is Music and your list name is MP3, your csv should look like this
Music MP3 Artist Album Track
for every entry in the list.
Your IR codes will be inserted automatically by SNL based on the player you built from the player screen on the opening menu.
Why not build a small list in SNL say 3 or 4 discs and then export it with all the boxes checked just to see what SNL expects the format to look like.
If you are still having a problem email me your CCF, csv and the two XML files from your SNL_Config directory and I will take a look at it for you.
Tom

CarGuy84, As Tom indicated, you did not supply the player/list names. It takes a while for most to get the hang of things. Some help based on the images you supplied...I looked @ the gifs you provided for the import screen and CSV screen. Tracks will not be be imported as you did not check the box for 'Track' and assign a column from your CSV file. It does not look as though the CSV contains track numbers. In order for this to work, you need to assign numbers 1..N to each song in a single playlist where 1..N is the ordinal position in the M3U file. From the gifs you supplied, I was also able to gather that in the Import dialog, you specified that Column 1 of your CSV file is the 'List Name'. In actuality, isn't column #1 the 'Disc Number'? Furthermore, you did not check the box for 'Disc Number' and specify disc number as being in column #1? You will need to add a column to your CSV that is static for each row and contains text such as 'CDs'. This column will then have to be assigned to 'List Name' SNL has the luxury of being able to specify what what items to import as well as importing those items from a specific column in your CSV file. I suggest that you do the export/examine/import as suggested by Tom, before attempting to import large amounts of data. This exercise will better help you to understand how SNL uses various data and how you will need to supply such data in the future. FYI, this tip/topic on help with imports/exports has been previously discussed on Page #5 of this thread. It's not rocket science, you just need to see what SNL exports and then you should be able to create an import CSV that provides the required data. You may also want to play around with the 'Preview' and changing column numbers around to see how SNL moves columns in the CSV around based on your selections. Also, there have been several discussions in this thread with regard to CDJ and MP3 support. You may also be able to email Bruce Hartley for additional suggestions. mailto://[email protected]. Bruce also has a website with a few MP3 tools that seem to work quite well. Regards, Lyndel McGee This message was edited by Lyndel McGee on 02/11/03 10:31.

Here are some questions have probably already been answered, but I could not find the answers, so here goes: 1. Should input ccf and output ccf be a copy of each other? When I exacute, other panels on output gets messed up or changed to panels from input. 2. I am useing a color ProntPro, My SNL panels are B&W, I have the color files. How do I make them color using the color files. 3. I asked this one already, but can not remember the answer. Can I make a differant panel (movie list genre, or jackeeet pictures) and aliase the buttons or pictures to the buttons on SNL, it works until I add a disc or edit then exacute, all of my aliases are gone. Thank you for the help. Joe
