Brad, I think you have the same problem that Jesseasi had with regard to the number of Tracks that he was trying to export. CCFDLL.DLL cannot handle the amount of track data you are trying to throw at it. This is not an SNL problem per se, however I believe it to be a CCFDLL.DLL problem. I've emailed Olivier with the logs supplied from Jessie's CCF.

Here's a snapshot of the problematic log I've seen does it seem to match your log?

Analyzing Button (line 225963)
Analyzing Action (line 225970)

Writing CCF Code List
Can't generate "e:\remotecontrol\CCFs\Jesse\Tracks.ccf" CCF file from "E:\RemoteControl\CCFs\Jesse\SN_Temp\SuperNudelist.csf" CSF script file.

If this is the case, Edit your list and change 'Levels' to not include track data (Letters->Artists->Disc) and repeat the exercise.

What you may find is that for some of your discs, you will have to 'Edit Disc' and then select the checkbox in the lower right-hand corner to not use track data on all of your discs. What this means is that if 'Levels' is set for 'Letters->Artists->Discs->Tracks' and a disc does not have track data, you will only see the disc name and cannot select based on tracks.

Look through this thread searching for posts to/from Jesseasi.

Finally, If your log does not look 99% similar to the one posted here, email me a copy of your log (zipped) or a copy of your Input CCF and SN*.XML files and I'll test here.

Thanks,
Lyndel

Hey Lyndel,
I posted the question and have been digging around ever since...I feel a little stupid now, but...
I exported my list of dvd's from DVDProfiler as a CSV file. When I tried to use this list in SNL it created each dvd as a new list. I think this was what was causing the problem. I deleted all the lists, created a simple list that had 3 movies in it and SNL worked like a charm.

So, my questions are:
1. How do I use a CSV list from DVDProfiler or another source within SNL so that it doesn't treat each dvd as its' own list?
2. I'm creating this for a 6000, however the icons, buttons, etc are black and white. Are there color versions to override the b&w?

Disregard question 2. I found the zip's for the color overrides...

Hi

SNL has a specific format that it expects to see. Why not build a small list (say 5 discs) in SNL use the export function check all of the field boxes and look at the exported list to get an idea of what the input should look like. Every entry requires the name of the list and the name of the player in the first two fields. Hope that helps.

I thought I finally had the hang of SNL. I was working on it and got half of my cd collection added and it work ed perfectly. I took a break from entering any more and was playing around with the layout and working on some macros. I also deleted some ccf's that I thought I would not need any longer I went back to SNL and changed the input and output file names to correspond to files I had in my pronto folder. But when I opened list in SNL there is nothing there! HELP!
Do I have to start all over ? The half completed list is in my pronto and also in the ccf's in prontoedit.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a TSU2000 and am using PE4.0

Traxx,

Regarding your problem description...

The only way you could have changed the names of the CCFs was if you had clicked either 'OK' or 'Cancel' on the 'Edit Lists' dialog. Which did you click? If you clicked 'OK', then the Lists were written to a file called SN_Library.XML and should be available in an SN_Config folder in the folder where SuperNudelist.EXE resides.

However, your description did not provide enough detail to accurately troubleshoot your problem. If you don't have a file named SN_Library.XML on your hard disk then you will unfortunately have to start over.

Also, There is a warning on Leo's website that says there is no current way to reverse engineer an SNL Config file from a CCF so you should backup the SN_Config subdirectory after every major update.

Is this something that you can reproduce readily? If you can reproduce, I can get to the bottom of this. I think you might have deleted the SN_Config folder accidentally but cannot be sure.

Shoot me an email with a telephone # if you are in the USA as I'd like to discuss the situation surrounding your problem a bit further.

Lyndel

Thanks very much for the quick reply!

Traxx,

That's great news. Now, you know what files you need to save off on a periodic basis. For future reference, all you need to do is to copy the SN_Config folder into the same directory as SuperNudelist. You are not required to do an import in that case. However, I am a bit concerned that the subdirectory was moved. If it was indeed moved, then the SN_Devices.XML file was also moved. This file contains your Player configurations. Did you lose the Player configurations as well?

Tip - Backing up your SuperNudelist Configuration Files

Take it from traxx, you don't want to lose your hard work. You should back up your SuperNudelist configuration often, especially after a major editing session.

Here's how...

After creating Players or Lists, the following applies.

In the subdirectory/folder where SuperNudelist.EXE resides, you will find a subdirectory/folder named SN_Config. Inside that folder, you should see 2 files SN_Library.XML and SN_Devices.XML. To make a backup of your entire SuperNudelist Configuration, you simply need to copy the contents of SN_Config folder or the folder for that matter, to another SAFE place such as a CDROM or Floppy Diskette. As these files are text-based, they also compress quite nicely with Winzip or other file compression tools.

Remember that SuperNudelist does not have a way to reverse engineer a CCF into the required configuration files. Don't even ask for that one.

Lyndel,

As always excellent advise. Mine has been copied to a floppy!

Thanks again for all your hard work.

Hello,
I have a working copy of SNL version 2.0.0.1. Last night, I added a DVD, now I get a pop up question: "Delete existing device named DVD?" If I choose yes, I get "Compilation failed, see log" (I saved the log". If I choose no, it creates 2 "DVD" devices in my CCF. I have deleted the new entry, but I still get the same thing. What can I do to rresolve this.
Thanks
Joe

Tip - SNL 'List' Names must not conflict with existing Device Names in the Input CCF.

When SNL generates a final output CCF, there are devices created that match names of your SNL 'Lists'.

If a device in your original Input CCF exists that is named the same as one of your SNL 'Lists', a collision will occur.

Upon execution, SNL will prompt you to delete the device any colliding devices.

Deleting a device that is reference by an SNL 'Player' will cause compilation to fail.

Typical Example...

When SNL executes and it sees that you have a 'List' named 'DVD', it will try to create a device named 'DVD' and find that one already exists.

More than likely, the name of the 'List' is the one referenced by the SNL 'Player' ie 'DVD'.

If you specify to delete the 'DVD' device, you are actually deleting your current DVD device that probably has transport/keypad.

Simple Solution...
Rename your SNL 'List' to 'DVDs' so that you don't have the collision.

Lyndel,
Thank you so much for you prompt answer! I changed the SNL player name to DVDs and now it works great. Another question please. How do I use the color graphics, I have a Pronto Pro and the CCF is in B & W. Thanks for the help.

Lyndel,
New question...
I am trying to use a differant panel for the DVD movie title (like jacket pictures), and alias to the SNL list. When I make a change in SNL on the list, then execute, the alias's disappear, why does this happen and is there anything I can do?
Thanks
Joe

You need to create a COLOR_Overide directoy in your SNL main directory and put your color graphics into that folder, the proper names for all the various graphics are in the documentation that came with SNL

When you run SNL it asks if you want to delete your current device, once you do that the alias to any panels in that device are no longer valid and you loose them sorry.

Joe,

You will also want to make sure that you have saved your CCF as a ProntoPro CCF. By your statement about B&W, I presume you mean the SNL Graphics and not your own. Here's a quick way to tell if your CCF is saved as a ProntoPro CCF.

Open SNL and edit one of your Lists. If the input CCF has been saved as a ProntoPro CCF, you should see MostLeft and MostRight tabs on the right-hand side of the EditLists Dialog in the Hard-Buttons area.
