Just to clarify. Image Colors are defined in the BMP files. Text Colors are defined in the Advanced List Options in SNL.

Lyndel -

Arrrrgh. My directory is - C:\Program Files\SuperNudelist\COLOR_Override.

The CCF is setup for color, as in the lists I do see "most left" and "most right".

The version #s I see are SNL 2.0.0.4 and CCFDII 0.99.

But still... only black and white.

I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious... but I can't see it.

Sorry to be such a pain.

Hi

First of all your not a pain, your just trying to make this work...Let me ask what files do you have in the COLOR_Override directory, there should be a bmp file for each B&W graphic that you want to replace.

Ok - back after a tough week.
Frank - Have you verified that the BMP images in the Color_Override are color images? You can probably open them with Microsoft Paint or Adobe Photoshop.
And when you run the CCF with ProntoEdit you select the 6000, correct?
And you have the Color_Override directory in the same folder as the SNL.EXE?
That's the way I have it set up. Did you try downloading Tom Lally's SNL files from Remote Central and running his CCF? If you have color there, then paste his Color_Override into your directory and run SNL again. This would be as a test, so please save your original Color_Override as something else first.
And let us know what turns up!
Lyndel - Haven't had time to get to work on that Doc file yet, sorry. Hope to get to it soon.

Frank,

I guess we all forgot to mention that you have to place your own (or downloaded) color .BMP files into this subdirectory. Thanks Rip, for pointing this out.

However if you don't have any... There are a couple of themes besides my "Rainbow" graphics theme available on this site in the SuperNudelist Files Category. As Rip mentioned, one of them is Tom's. The 'Notes' and 'Discs' alphabet graphics (included as separate zips inside the SNL zip) were designed specifically with Tom's images in mind.

Thanks for all your help, everyone.

I finally realized what the problem was with Ripper's comment.

I think in trying various solutions, I'd loaded two versions of SNL.. which isn't a problem. However, the shortcut on my desktop was pointing to the one which DID NOT have the COLOR_Override sub directory in it... so once I fixed that.. I'm good to go.

Now to input 400 CD's. :-D

Thanks again, all!!!!!!

Hi

SNL is capable of reading (and importing) CSV files....as long as you understand the format that SNL wants to see for each disc, you could actually build your list in Excel and save it as a CSV file and import that into SNL. You might want to enter a few disks into SNL first and export that list as a CSV and open it with Excel ...that should give you and idea of what the SNL format is like.....Enjoy

Frank,

Chalk that one up to pilot error. Glad 2 see you are up and running.

Problem: SNL does not seem to find the image override folder. The color images I supplied are not used. Why?

Tip: If you start SuperNudelist from a Windows Shortcut, verify the Shortcut Properties.

Right-click on the shortcut and select 'Properties'. Ensure that the 'Target' path for SuperNudelist.EXE indeed contains the path where you installed and run SuperNudelist. This should be the same path that also contains your '*_Override*' folder. For example: 'C:\SuperNudelist\SuperNudelist.exe'. The directory '*_Override*' folder should be placed into 'C:\SuperNudelist'.

Taking this extra precaution will eliminate hours of headaches. Please note that this problem is very hard to detect and isolate. Unfortunately, there is currently no programmatic way for SuperNudelist to detect the existence of the folder and notify the user if the folder does not exist.

Lyndel,

I managed to get the image replacement problem fixed. Don't really know how, but thinks it had something to do with removing the older version of SNL and simplifying the folder structure. Maybe it would be simpler if downloading newer versions of SNL replaced older versions and kept existing lists?

While I have your attention, has anyone had any success in building lists from your DVD Profiler collections? If so, do you have any pointers? As the memory chips on one of my Pioneer DVF 727s seems to be faulty using the GUI of the two daisy chained changers is not reliable. Using DVD Profiler solves this problem when I am in my home theater as I have placed all my DVDs in slot numbers corresponding to the colllction number on Profiler, which I can display on my projector, and then only type the number of the DVD I want to access. However, this is not very elegant, storing the number on a SNL list would be better, also allowing me to access discs from rooms were I cannot see Profiler. However, as I have more than 520 DVDs, I hope to avoid having to build a list manually. As DVD Profiler allows me to save my collection either as XML or CSV it should be possible to use this info?

Again Lyndel, thanks for offering to talk me through the image issue on the phone. I am very impresswed by your dedication and helpfulness! And yes, when I have the system up and working properly with colour images and DVD list I will contribute more than mere words...

Hi Chris

After using DVDProfiler for a while now, I never realized that it would do a CSV export. You could use that data to import into SNL the only fields you would have to export are the title and collection number and then add the list name and player name using Excel. Enter a few titles into SNL and export the list as a CSV and use that as a template to copy/paste your data from the Profiler CSV and you should be good to go...let me know how you make out.

The CSV export is the reason why I have asked the question before, both here and in the "How many DVDs do people own" thread on the Home Theater forum, but so far with no luck. I am not good enough with computers to achieve what I want, only good enough to think it must be possible. I tried exporting my collection both as CSV and XML and then import into SNL, but nothing happens! I get a new list (named automatically, but it contains nothing to work with). I tried doing what you said, exporting only collection number and DVD title, and then importing disc number and disc name, but nada!

Send me the CSV with just the collection number and the title, I also need the name of your device and the name of the list, the device name will be what you call your Pioneer changers in your CCF (EG: DVD)and the list name will be what you want to name your collection(EG: movies). Have you built your device (player) and mapped the keys in SNL?
