I would be ashamed to post those photos of that panel. Nice lableing on the coaxes. How much jacket is supposed to be exposed on cat 5's when punching them down. Not impressed. By the way, I think its pathetic you are "coming" for control4 dealers. Most Creston dealers up to today were too full of themselves to touch the market C4 is targeting. But get a piece of gear you think will compete with C4 and your ready to concor the world. How pathetic.

By the way, take note of how nicely I wrote the labeling on our wires...............oh forgive me we used a real labeler. If your my competition now, I will go ahead and order my new ZR1 now.

dude you are a f$%^ing prick. i have never said anything about pictures you have posted. you are going to pick the fact that i didnt use labels out of everything i posted. you are a douche bag. and trust me the last thing my million dollar homeowners give a shit about is whether or not i wasted time on putting labels on the wires they will never ever touch. as for the jacket, please, it works just fine, i would beleive it is the untwisting of pairs that really matters.

When you do a search, you will find my junk is larger and fatter. Your diameter cannot compare to this Prolixus dealer.

calm down. any yes your customers should worry about crappy labeling jobs when they deteriorate or come off over time. I dont label my systems that way for my convienence. I do it incase we do ever fall off the face of the earth, my customers wont have to pay another outfit to come back in and do it again. Its all serviceable. That is customer support. Maybe I woulndt have been so harsh if the work "BIIIIAAAATCH" or whatever wouldnt have been in your post. You opened yourself up to it. believe it or not, wether crestron or C4, we're all on the same team. Out there to take care of our customers.

As far as how much cat5 jacket should be exposed.. It does not matter IMO. What matters is the twist on the pairs. As long as your twisted all the way to the punch down block your good. I normally use rack mount patch panels for Cat5 & 6 so its much easier to take the cable & jacket right up to the patch panel.

In structured cabinets i will usually pull the jacket back a little more so that i can easily bend the twisted pairs over. Same thing when im taking stripped cat5 to screw terminals etc. I hate trying to work with the short little wires.

The Projector mount fixit job from Audio Atmosphere is definately nice but not legal in Chicago. You cant 'bury' power cords and you cant have low voltage and high voltage in the same box so all of the cute boxes with hdmi or component and power cant be used here. This means that most of our projector installs have wall plates like the ones in Ed's photos. One for low voltage and 1 for power.

We usually try and stash projectors in a soffit or spec one that will work when flush mounted to the ceiling or build a box for it to sit in or mount to in an attempt to try and hide the ugly :).

Aside from that... CRESTRON RULES!

lol its not that bad.. how ever i dont use those stupid F barrel plates.. its just one more connection to go bad.. just run everything directly to the sources but really who uses basic cable anymore anyways :)

and i agree with the rest

you homerun every coax in the house back to the dish?
i homerun every cable in the house back to a central location where a panel or rack will be. i also run the wires from the dish to this location. i use barrels to connect up to four satellite tuners directly to the four sat feeds, if there are more than 4 tuners i put a multiswitch in. take notes now, after this i will charge for tips.

Seriously quit opening yourself up. if your going to charge for your "tips" start looking for a second job. All sat boxes in our installs are located in the rack and come off a multiswitch very cleanly. We take the time to relocate the b band converters to the multiswitch as to not have them cluttering or screwing up the liik of our rack.

audio, i really am not trying to be a dick, but i dont care what kind of box you used in attic, you can not have a power cord (it does not matter whether or not it is UL rated) penetrating from an unfinished area to a finished area. also i have never found an in wall rated power cord.

good try though.

PS C4 this is much more petty than not using labels, as it concerns life safety and illegal power connections. shows how much you know.
