I need to hire a crew so I can be the salesguy/busiess OWNER. I understand being an owner/operator I will never grow much more then where im at. Need to put my control issues aside and hire out to take my company to the next level.

Still dont care to have a showroom, Maybe a mobile one in the future but a nice office/warehouse space is the near term plan.

I listened to the German national anthem followed immediately by the Italian national anthem. I had forgotten how sweet that is!

Someone will get it. :)

who said the goal of this business was to make millions? my goal is to own income generating assets so that I don't have to worry about making money in this business. Buying the building and leasing out the space with the hope of additional tenants covering the costs is the real goal...then buy and repeat until retired.

AV is just what I do in all my 'free' time ;)

Today i fixed a fax line. Yesterday i did a small update install. The day before that i cut the tip of my finger off making salsa.

It bled like a faucet. I wrapped it with a paper towel and sealed it with duct tape. Yesterday i replaced that with gauze and medical tape. Today its finally not bleeding and scabbed over.

"Go to the doctor" my girlfriend says. I respond with "what do you think people did before there were doctors?". "They died a slow painful death" she said. I followed that with "thats because they didn't have paper towels and duct tape".

This is what I need to do as well...  I need to start working ON the business instead of IN the business...  Problem is, its too damn hard to find good workers nowadays..  Takes so much time to train guys fresh.  Every body thinks they should start out making $100K...
I'm lucky that I have 2 guys working for us that I can trust, do great work and have been with me for 15+ years, I trained them both way back when we were all with another company, so we all know exactly how the other guy works.  They both get paid pretty damn well for this industry, but its so worth it..
But other guys I've met with 7-10 or so years that have supposedly ran crews and been leads never seem to really know what you would expect, and seem to be set in their ways, and not in a good way.
Anybody w/ experience looking for work on Long Island??

Good luck on your search 3ped

On Easter Sunday (yesterday) I went downtown to have lunch at the Pike Place Market.
I met this couple from Peru, and we got chatting because my parents had a business there for about 16 years, and I have a few pals in Latin America.

This couple own some property in the Amazon where "Ayahuasca" ceremonies are performed. I got a free invite to go down there, when I go back to Brazil soon.
This ceremony isn't exactly a picnic, but sounds pretty fascinating for an old hippie like myself. I've been researching these retreats, and so it was pretty interesting for me to run into someone who helps put these things on --- not to mention a small world, as these are not very common get-togethers.

I had a roomate from Columbia whom is an artist, and she went through the experience in an area of the Amazon called San Francisco... it was a life changing event for her... It is NOT pleasant, but kind of cleans you out, psychically and spiritually. She had zero regrets...

I need a new adventure.
U only live once as far as I know.

After some odd fiascos last week, I was hoping for a cake walk monday. So far, work has not been bad. But both my kids were puking all evening and through the night....at least until I went to bed at 2:30. In between pukes, I discovered that my phone, which had been plugged into a newly installed Leviton USB outlet, had stopped charging and the USB port on the phone was all burnt up....smells like all the smoke was let out. So I spent an hour today with a heat gun and a handful of credit cards and got the stupid back cover off (HTC One M7). WTF!!!!!!???? I want to punch someone in the throat!! Are they that protective of the chinese $4!+ they put in these things that they cannot just screw the thing together with 6 screws and call it good? They make it literally impossible to disassemble and reassemble one of these phones without making it look like a 3rd grader did it. I took my time and did a decent job of not completely fubaring the thing, but COME ON!!!! The guy who starts a company building devices that are as easy to take apart for upgrades, repairs, and general tinkering, will be a thousandaire within years...maybe decades! It needs to be done.

And buying parts is russian roulette it seems. Hopefully the part I ordered actually is in stock like the website says and will actually ship from NV like the website says, and will actually show up at my door in 2-4 days like the website says. Thank goodness for Visa customer support in case these scammers steal my money.

I was about to say F it and go down and buy a new phone....but I stopped myself. I did break out my G1 and fire it up. Battery was still partially charged after sitting in a box since 2011. I fudged the SIM card in there and can make calls and text. But trying to use any of the "smart" features is painful! 2G/3G used to be blazing fast! And think...this was a BADASS phone less than 8 years ago. We sure have come a long way.

Anyone else have to factory reset Sony TVs with 8 count LED blink codes in the last few days? I did one on friday and another this morning. Not sure a firmware update is to blame or weird lunar related phenomenons or what.

Got a few calls already. Took a bout an hour to the reset per TV. Take your time for this procedure. Otherwise, you be continue repeat it over and over. Think about update firmware on RTIs. This much worse.
