I would like to know if the TSU-9600 will support real time feedback for the Imerge line. The info only lists the Fireball products. I called Phillips "tech support" this morning and was supprised to hear they they are only a consumer help line and did not know the answer. Further more, they could not give me a contact to find out. I called my Pronto distributor ans they have not seen or been trained on this unit yet. Ithought this would be a simple question to answer? Wow. Aren't we jumping on them a little too soon. The announcement is a day old and the remote is a few weeks away at best. I like a lot of the new features they've added and I'm encouraged at the amount of effort that went into the design of the product. Even the teaser program is a good indication that they have a team dedicated to pushing this new product. If they have a marketing team dedicated to the TSU9600 then maybe there's a tech team as well... let's give them a little time to get everything in place. I have only owned a Pronto 7000 for a very short time and gave up for various reasons but I'm looking forward to this remote with an open mind.

Training of tech support staff about a product is one of the last things to do prior to product release. So, I think you are asking a bit too early as the product is just now being surfaced in full view this week @ Cedia.

[Link: gizmodo.com]He didn't say anything about it functionality though, he complained about the grips and how hard it is to program. I hear this all the time about Prontos, but I honestly think they are a breeze to program and anyone can do it. Sure it akes a couple of hours or more to get it just right, but that is why we buy these remotes. Because we love to get our hands dirty and be proud of what we made. This is just my opinion though so take it with a grain of salt, I am still looking forward to the unit.

I looked for the new editor but couldn't find it. Does anyone know if it is available for download yet, and, if so, where?

We shouldn't have problems seeing those buttons. Probably won't even have to use the stylus.

Probably won't even have to use the stylus. it is not a stylus but a pointer to reach the wall mounted remote. Actually I think the giant wall mounted remote looks cool. So how can I get one for the corridor

[Link: gizmodo.com]Gizmodo is great for the latest tech news but I don't put a lot of value into their reviews. Especially when they refer to a Hyundau TV in the Logitech Harmony 1000 post. I think the reviewer should be flamed for even trying to compare a $500 remote to a $1200 one. Logitech makes some great stuff... I still use the Harmony 688 in my den... but I'd never expect it to control Escient, Lutron lighting or RS232 equipment

True. Jim, you didn't plug your sites Philips interview? [Link: remoteshoppe.com]Looks like the consumer will be able to program their own remotes. Thank goodness. The question is who's going to be the distributers? Freddy C.

I was very impressed with this remote at CEDIA. The VGA graphics make it easy to use smaller text and graphics and still be very readable. I ran through the programming software and found it to be much more intuitive than prior ProntoEdit versions. While it doesn't support animated graphics, page changes are so fast that you can create your own basic animations through the use of multiple page changes. How anyone could rave about the Harmony over the Pro is beyond me. The Harmony was dissapointing in that it was little more than a touchscreen 880. Mike www.SurfRemoteControl.com

I was very impressed with this remote and the ease of showing metadata on a wireless device. I am not aware of many other devices that will do this RELIABLY. Add VGA graphics to the mix and it appears to be a viable solution. We have all had issues in the past with Pronto, but it really appears that they have atoned for their lost ways. Not sure about the review from the guy that loves the Logitech device. Not even sure I would call it a review, but oh well. Plus add a $599 device with routed IR, voltage power sensing, and 3 RS232. Seems pretty strong to me. Maybe I just have my Philips blinders on.
