Philips Pronto WebsiteJust a separate thread to chat about the new Pronto Professional TSU-9600 until separate threads are needed. Chat away!!! Greg Edited to changed name so as not to confuse this model with the SRU-9600.P.S. I do not have permission to use the Pronto drawing above, so if the web site owner or Philip's people have a problem with that, I will gladly remove it. Simply check my Profile above for my email address, and let me know.

From Philips website... "It’s designed for fast and efficient programming, simplicity of operation and absolute reliability to reduce your service call out rate as well as save time during installation."
I'd sure love more information on what this statement exactly means. If this ends up being a remote with far less customization possible in exchange for fast and efficient programming and simplicity of operation I will be very disappointed. Needless to say, I think all of us would like to know if our current PCF's will be able to be imported for use with this new Pronto in some way shape or form. I can't wait to learn more about this remote. Anything new to share on this Daniel? :-)

Bump.
This thread certainly had a much shorter life than I thought it would. Doesn't anyone have anything to add?

Well, there's already that other thread "anyone else seetoday's announcement", as well as one even before that... and with no real info yet... :-)

I just thought that I would create this thread with a name that fits the topic.
When someone finds something out, I hope they can post it here until enough is known to warrant new, separate threads.

In the installer lounge it is mentioned that the supply lines of the Pronto are now being limited. I have no idea what this means in reference to the new Pronto. Seems like something is going on with Philips...
I have not bought or sold a pronto in months so I have no first hand information, just rumors like the rest of us...

Site just updated a few minutes ago. Not much else added, but at least it is something.

They are just adding a few bits and pieces here and there to build up the anticipation! Doh!
I'm guessing that it's a 2-handed touchscreen. Higher end. Made for CI's. That's why there seems to really be an emphasis on solid RF.
Something like a tabletop remote that can be picked up and used with two hands.

The orientation of teaser 2 at the site would certainly indicate 2-handed operation. Waiting in anticipation of the next bit of info on this mysterious remote. :-P

You know, that makes since, a programmable 9800i. That really makes a lot of since expecially if they can reuse most of the hardware components. That saves a ton on engineering costs.

I am sad to see that it has the small screen. Having tinkered with the big-screen iPronto 6400 over the last several months, I'd love to see a reasonably-priced big-screen remote. Would be a killer product. RTI just came out with one for $2500 - installers only please.
The ability to portray almost any device in a single page is a huge benefit.

What's with all the teases? Why not come out and tell us what is going on!? They must have a prototype by now to show. What's the big secret? If not until CEDIA then say that. Creating a buzz for the 100's or so of us that integrate this remote daily is more of an insult! Did anyone on this forum help consult with Phillips? I don't know which "installers" they found for this design either. I rarely hear of a client that wants a two handed remote with a small screen and a power toggle button! hopefully it will be a lot more durable and use the same software.
Common Philips! Who has time for this??

First place I heard of the remote was here, and we sell a ton of prontos. Im still trying to get used to a two handed remote. I just got a new touch screen from Elan that does a lot but is pricey - around $3500 retail. An affordable version, even if it didn't do as much would be pretty cool.
