Have them in stock at my distro..

Just waiting on the integration with DVD changers. Actually I am really looking forward to integration with Sonos. Anyone have any word on that one. When the trainer asked if there was anything we wanted modules for I barked SONOS first. He said that Sonos was already in the works and that Snos team was writing it. That would be great for us as Sonos is our prefered music server. If I could also have remote control on the same device too...

Like rather than the 7500 sitting next to the ZC100.

Naturally, but it will be IR only (so equipment in your line of sight, like a normal remote).

This is Barry Gordon one of the original Philips Pronto Remote contributors. I am still using my iPronto but eyeing the TSU9600. One simple question.

Has philips indicated if the TSU9600 can talk to a standard PC (With the proper application running) over a WiFi Network using something like TCP/IP with disclosure of the protocol. All I am interested in doing is talking to my Theater's PC over Wifi instead of IR. All I want to send the PC is the equivalent of the IR code that would have been sent by the remote. I would love two way comm at the message level, but would settle for one way.

Have they perhaps indicated they will do this in the future?

To me it would seem easy, jsut have a function that says issue TCP/IP instead of IR or RF. A capability such as this would open the world up in a very non proprietary manner which unfortunately is against Philips policy.

Barry,

I'm sure you could purchase or download a network sniffer and figure things out. I doubt that Philips would ever share the protocol as if they did so, and others wrote to it, then applications have the possibility of breaking when firmware is updated.

So, don't hold your breath. If I were Philips, I would not publish the protocol but maybe provide some SDK functionality in the future. No official word on an SDK for developers

I got very, very lucky getting my 9600 to work with my home-brew media player. I first wrote a test program in Java to try things out and indeed found a few bugs in the 9600 of which, most were addressed but there were a few cosmetic ones that will come later (sorry, can't recall all the details).
