I have an older Sony HT system (HT-C800DP), with the original remote, and an Atlas for the entire system of cable, TV and VCR. I also have several extra remotes (Comcast, both "red" & "grey" button models) programmed for use to various extents.
I also happen to have a spare Sony RM-U306 remote, which is OEM for many of the receivers. I have seen the issue of syncing receivers to this remote (AV1 to AV2).
My question for the experts is this; is there a way to somehow get this RM-U306 remote to function with my Sony HTIB receiver? My receiver does not have a menu/set up feature on the face to readily change the setting. The other questions is, would I want to change it? Would this detract from the original remote (RM-U800)?
