Thanks g.n. darn fine suggestion. Yep, my remote
has exactly that setup. Your post taught me some
things I didn't know! I.e, the input and DSP buttons
allow for temporary change but is the wheel that
take command, doh!

My pleasure. Glad I could be of help.

Instead of using the number pad, I may use the
labels down on the bottom, as if I can remember
correctly, those can be renamed?

Absolutely. By the way, I tried to go that route while planning the button layout but needed those label keys for other functions and would have ran out had I used them for DSP effects. I opted to put the DSP settings on the number keys partly because those keys were not in use and because it gave me instant access to all effects without having to page through the labels.

Once you get the remote functional and start automating your setup with macros, you'll probably find that you rarely have to access the DSP functions directly.

I am gonna try this setup tonight! Thanks again.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll arrive at a layout that works well for you.
