Instructions on how to use the CODE SEARCH button:
In this example we will say we are setting up the TV button for our television set.
1. Manually turn the power to your television set ON.
2. Hold down the Code Search button on the remote for 2 or 3 seconds until the light on the remote stays on (aka stays solid).
3. Push the TV button on the remote.
4. Point the remote at your television and slowly press POWER until the television turns OFF.
5. Press the ENT button on the remote. (It is under the number 7 button.)
That's it! I lost the manual to my remote and was so excited when I figured this out I just had to post it. Have fun! Thanks a bunch!! :)

Thank you. Yours is a true fast way of getting a code that works great. I saved it to my hard dirive because you never know what the children will do. Now it will be at my fingertips and not to have to worry about finding a lost paper. I would suggest others in my situation use your link and save for future referance.

I have a Philips remote control that I have lost the code to. It is just a regular Zenith television (no VCR or surround system hook up or anything). Could someone help me with the codes please, as I have lost the manual for them. Thank you.

Will pressing the code search, getting the red light steady on and then pressing the VCR button and then the off button work just like for programing the code for the TV?

These CODE SEARCH instructions did not work for me, and I'm hoping someone can clarify.
I am trying to re-program the TV button to work with my JVC TV. I have turned the TV on and held down the Code Search button until it stayed lit and then pushed the TV button, which caused the remote light to blink but stay lit again.
I don't understand the instruction to "slowly press POWER". Do you mean to hold the button down? I'm not quite sure how you press it slowly. I've tried holding the Power button down, hoping something would happen, but nothing does. (My TV never turns off.)
Can someone help? Or can someone post a copy of the remote user manual? I can't seem to find mine. Thanks!
