Hi, y'all!

Thanks for all the useful info on programming the RS 15-1994. I'm up and running on all of my home theater components, except for my receiver. I just purchased the new NAD T760 Dolby Digital Receiver, and I can't get any of the codes to operate it. I even tried to have the 15-1994 "learn" the direct IR signals from the NAD T760's remote, but I was greeted repeatedly by a single long flash from the 15-1994, indicating a failed learn operation. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Please reply to my e-mail address in addition to posting replies to this thread, as my web-access is not as reliable as my text-based e-mail access.

Thanks.

Jack, Was under the impression that volume punch through was not available on the 15-1994. Thanks to your input, I might run out and buy one. If it fails, I'll exile it to the den where volume is TV controlled. Happy Holidays, Dennis!

Dennis,
Volume punch through is available on the RS-15-1994. The problem is, it only works for the TV. Many of us want it to work with our receiver. So that is why we have these workarounds.

Is it possible to program my DVD to run off of Aux2 (or Aux1)? I have tried the DVD code with AUX2 and I get a single red instead of a double red light. I have successfully programmed the DVD onto the VCR key, but I want to use that for the VCR (of course).

I tried to do the swap from VCR to AUX2 using 9-9-2, and I got the double blink, but it doesn't work.

Right now I have:
AUX1 - Sony Reciever
CBL - Scientific Atlanta Cable box
TV - Magnavox TV
VCR - Panasonic VCR

Any help here is appreciated.

You CAN use the Punch Through feature for a reciever on the 15-1994! Not just for a TV. Mine works great!

Anyone interested? If so, i'll dig out my notes from UEI to program it.

Merry Christmas,

After posting, I realized that the answer was already in this thread! I programmed mine as Jack did and now I can control the receiver volume at all times.

Here's what Jack posted and what I did as well(assuming that you want to control volume while in CBL/SAT mode):

CBL/SAT * P *--** 9*9*4* AUX2 VolUp * VolUp **
CBL/SAT * P *--** 9*9*4* AUX2 VolDn * VolDn **
CBL/SAT * P *--** 9*9*4* AUX2 Mute * Mute **

Repeat this programming for each device that you wish to have receiver volume control with.

You will get a lot of programming tips by just printing out this thread! It's long but helpful!

Best of luck!

Sincerely,

Scott Funk

I current have a Technics SH-AC500D DD/DTS
Decoder and a Onkyo TX-SV727 Receiver for my
audio source control and a Kenwood KX-M1 Amp.
Is it possible to have this remote execute a macro
when you select a device. For Example:

When I press "DVD", I want the remote to:

1. Select Video 1 on my receiver
2. Select Digital 1 on my DD decoder

But if I select "CD" I want it to do:
1. Select CD on my receiver
2. Select "Through" on my DD decoder

And is it possible to have the "Power" button
execute a macro to shutdown all of the devices?

HELP! I bought this remote through RadioShack.com. Unboxed it-WOW! Great look and feel. Put in batteries, and hit the light button and the unit emits this low but fairly high-pitched hum/buzz. Does anyone else have this problem? I thought it might be bad so I called RS's 800# and they told me "shouldn't be humming-take it back." So I took it to my local RS just now and test THREE other units and they all did the same thing (though I thought one was slightly quieter than the others-that's the one I took home). PLEASE tell me someone else is experiencing this and if not, how do I go about finding a "quiet" remote!? ;) Don't misunderstand me, it's far from LOUD, but it's noticeable in a quiet room. Thanks!!

Follow-up to previous post (look directly above)... the remote ONLY hums while the backlight is lit. It is totally silent when the backlight is off. In case I was unclear.

Greg R-- Mine does the same thing. I doubt it's anything to worry about.

Anyone know for sure?

I posted this as a seperate thread as well, but thought I might get more responses here, so here's a re-post:

I just picked up two of these great remotes (one for dad, one for me). I've been to www.starbase314.com, which is a great source for advanced codes for this (and the Cinema7) remote.

However, I've not been able to determine some of the advanced codes for my Yamaha RX-V995 receiver. Specifically, the one that I really need, is the code to switch the receiver to TV/DBS. I don't see it listed anywhere on starbase314's Yamaha receivers page. Various buttons on the numeric keypad switch the receiver to other modes, like dvd, tuner, tape, vcr, etc. But I can't find the button or a code for TV/DBS, which is the one I use the most.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Greg,

I had mine for a month, it does the same. Went back to change one and it still hums. I remember seeing someone in one of these posts had the same problem with this RS unit. I use to have a X-10 remote with back light which was silient.

The noise is from the converter for the back light, and it should not be a problem.

I am trying to to ignore it.
