Hello all. Am resurrecting my TSU7000 to try and consolidate 5 remote controls. I have several questions: (1) I have a remote control that turns the gas logs on/off. I don't see the usual IR window. In fact I aimed the remote 180° from the logs and they still came on so I suspect RF. On the device page I enabled RF. HOW/can I teach the unit RF? Don't need a repeater/extender as I only need the RF. (2) I recently purchased the ROKU ultra and designed pages for the control. However when I go to "LEARN" I am not having too much success. I have tried numerous angles, lights off in the room, etc. and still not working. IDEAS? As it has the red 'window' I am assuming it is IR and that is what I have set as the default. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS to all...

smorris,

1. You cannot learn RF. The RF in the remote is used to talk to the RF to IR extender of the Pronto and even then, it is a certain frequency and speaks a certain protocol. I'm sure with some not-so-insignificant engineering you could get this to work, but I doubt it's worth your time.

2. Go to the files sections and search for Roku. There are older device pages that already have the codes embedded in them. You may not get all the buttons, but you will get the important ones. Not sure why you can't learn them though. Are you usre you're pointed at the correct end of the Pronto remote? Are you sure you're going through the correct set of steps to "learn"?

raiders_fan94, thank you for your response. I was afraid what you said about the RF was going to be that control's downfall. Oh well, can live with 2 instead of 5 or so.

As for the Roku. Yes, I put the Pronto into LEARN and then clicked on BUTTON then with the front of the PRONTO facing the front of the ROKU about 6" or so distance when I clicked on one button I then clicked on the corresponding button and then OK would appear. Did this with a number of panels/buttons. Still, a number of them didn't work. I will look for the ROKU files in the file section. I also have an AT&T U-verse (PACE IPH8010 - #on back of remote - S30-S1B) and it is giving me the same trouble as the Roku. I checked the FAQ and it said to relearn those buttons/commands which don't work, which I have done several times and still some buttons work and others don't. Do you know if there is a U-verse file or if older ones will work with this newer box?? Just asking.... ANY other help would be greatly appreciated. I think this is why I shelved it a number of months ago - need it to work with all of the important remotes or why bother at all. That is why I wanted the Pronto to be my all-in-one remote so I could put the others away. Sorry to pontificate. Again, THANKS for your response and anything else you can offer is appreciated.

smorris,

I would search the files section for "u-verse" or "pace". Honestly, I've never had the issue where a learned button would not work after a few tries. When learning, and pressing the Roku remote button, do you keep it pressed until the Pronto says OK, or is it a quick press, release then after a second, the Pronto says OK?

If not, try that. Sometimes the Pronto is finicky.

I did find some U-verse and have attempted to integrate them into my home screen and go from there. To be honest I really didn't notice how I was performing the action all I saw was the OK and figured that was it. I will hold it down until the OK appears to see if this helps. THANKS again and wishing you a Happy New Year.

The longer the press, the pronto will have more info and will usually result in a cleaner learn.
