I installed ProntoEdit using the Windows XP compatability mode... It installs fine however when I click on the Program icon I get the ProntoEdit splash screen for a second and then I get the error "Prontoedit had stopped working". Any help is appreciated.

Did you also run the setup program as Administrator?

If tried a search for "Vista" you would have found this thread:

[Link: remotecentral.com]

It suggests rebooting after installation. However, your problem may be different as you get to see the splash screen.

I am seeing a very similar issue, but my issue did not occur with my Vista upgrade. ProntoPro Edit ran just fine after I installed it under Vista. My issue began occurring AFTER I installed Norton 360. I had no issues with WinXP and Norton Internet Security. I've tried uninstalling Norton 360 but the problem persists.

Try complete uninstall of the Pronto Software and reinstall. Make sure the remote is not connected to the computer when doing this.

If this is a TSU7000 and your computer is failing to recognize the remote, you will want to search for +Potential +USB +Issues for instructions on reinstalling the USB driver.

In addition to installing the app in compatibility mode, you will need to find the application and have it run in compatibility mode as well. I am pretty sure that is what I did to get mine to work!

ProntoEditNG does not need to run in compatibility mode - only the install kit does.

While I turned off User Compatability Mode (UAC) at work I left it turned on at home. I wonder if it has anything to do with my ability to run ProntoEdit without any problem on my home computer.
