Hi, Iv'e recently upgraded my sky box to sky HD, all the codes work, accept the code for the number 6!, it works on it's own from my TSU7000 but when put it in a macro to select a channel it seems to ignore it, for instance channel 1 delay 0 delay 6(sky one) only shows on screen as 1 delay 0, it does not matter where in the macro I put it, it just does not work.

I've changed the delay between codes and the duration of the code but I still cannot get it to work. Any ideas anyone.

I'm starting to get annoyed now, several of my channel macro's no longer work, a real pain.

Thanks for any help or advice.

There is nothing wrong with the Pronto Hex posted above for '6'.

I don't have any good guess what you might be doing wrong in programming or testing those macros.

I have no suggestion better than test some more and do it more carefully and with more macros to try to find some other pattern in the problem.

What is teh delay you are using? Have you experimented with different delays? Have you adjusted the duration at all?

Is your macro really pointing at the correct 6 code? Sometimes peole find they have linked to another button by mistake.

The delay is 0.10 sec between each code, it works perfectly for all other channel macro's on this digibox, i've tried duration at default 0.01 and in .10 increments up to .5 sec so far.

I've checked and double checked, the link is definately to the right code. I've been doing channel macro's for years now on my original RU940, RU970 and now my TSU7000 and I've encoutered problems before usually silly errors, but never anything like this.

I've run out of ideas to try, really frustrating.

Have you tried deleting the button and the code associated with it, and then recreating it?

cheers, Adam.

Hi tried it, still no luck, even went as far as creating a new button on a different panel, relearned the code, linked to the new button from my channel icon button, still does not work, however try the button on it's own and it's sends the correct code, really weird.

Adam,

I have seen this problem twice. I agree that it is very strange that the code would work on its own when you test the number 6 but not in a macro. First, I draw from what you said earlier that other channel macros without the digit 6 operate normally. If that is the case the durations are correct etc. Replace the number 6 code with that of another codeset for your Sky box.
Here the number 1 has caused that same problem with Scientific Atlanta receivers. There is something peculiar about that code that allows it to work individually but not in a macro. If the code doesn't work in a macro, its bad code. Good luck.

It wouldn't be strange at all if the code were learned badly. It is reasonably common to have a bad learn that works alone and fails in a macro.

But I am quite certain the Pronto Hex for the '6' posted in this thread is NOT a bad learn.

I disagree. These codes are variable length enough that we cannot be sure the same duration or delay that works for every other digit would work for '6'. It's a little far fetched, but I could imagine '6' needing up to 0.2 seconds more duration or more delay than the other digits need.

But it sounds like the testing already described in this thread has covered that (if not, try using .2 seconds more delay for '6' than the minimum that worked for other digits).

If the code doesn't work in a macro, its
bad code.

In general yes. This time no. The posted Pronto Hex is not a bad code.

One more far fetched thing to try. Maybe the device is picky about some combination of the code length and the lead-out. An NG Pronto tends to increase the lead-out a little over what was in the signal it learned from. Most devices don't care, and this one obviously doesn't care for any of the other digits (all with the same lead-out).

But maybe a lower lead-out will help. Try:

0000 0072 0000 0017 0061 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0020 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0020 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010 0020 0010 0FA0

Well I've managed to get the code working in a macro, but in a rather messy way, I've linked to the button twice, ie, for channel 106 the macro is 1, delay,0 delay,6 delay, and 6 again which sends 106 to the digibox.

This makes me think it is something to do with duration of the code, although I could be totally wrong, anyway it does what I need for the moment, although I hate to do crappy work arounds like this, thanks for your help people especially John, I will keep working on this and hopefully find a proper resolution.

Cheers, Adam.

Adam,

What happens when 6 is the first number (i.e. channel 600 for example)?

If 6 is the first number it works if I link to it twice, but not if linked to once, it doesn't matter where the code is in the macro, it only works if I link to it twice, strange but true.

cheers, Adam.

It really sounds like the duration should be adjusted.
