Some coffee spilled onto the touchscreen. Wiped it off with a napkin. Later on noticed problems with some of the touchscreen buttons on bottom right.
Removed battery, and tried to use it next day. It works fine for a while, then kind of goes dead.
Tried for multiple days, same-thing, works for a while, then stops. Tried downloading firmware multiple times. Calibration fails (used pencil).
Finally decided to open it up and clean it myself. Bought T6 Torx from Sears per the thread on opening Pronto. Opened first 2 screws on the bottom below the battery. Afterwhich, I could not find 3rd screw.
This is Pronto Pro TSU6000. (I looked behind the stickers like in TSU2000 the third screw is not there).
Anyone tried opening a Pronto Pro TSU6000.
Thanks for any help.

I finally figured out how to open the Pronto Pro. There are 8 T6 Torx screws in total. 2 are below the battery. Then front dark grey case comes out(the one in front where it says ProntoPro in white). It has 2 latches in between along the sides. So be careful. Once this slides out. 2 more T6 Torx screws are exposed. Now the hardest part. The bottom black case needs to removed from the silver case. To do this start at the bottom (near connection to charge). Work your way towards the top releasing one latch at a time from either side. In total 6 latches. You release them by pushing the silver case inwards and black bottom case outwards with a flat object. (Dont worry about the brightness control and mode light button). Once this is opened. It will expose 4 T6 Torx screws across the board, and one ribbon connector. After this it is easy.
To remove the touchscreen, unsolder (dont know if unsolder is a word....but you get my meaning) 2 metal parts coming from the touchscreen casing into the PCB. You also have to unsolder the Pink and White wires. They are pretty large and easy to work with.
Once the touchscreen casing is out 2 more ribbon connectors, couple of metal latches (use screw driver to move metal latches outwards.) The touchscreen casing splits into 3 separate parts.
I cleaned all the screens with a napkin and Windex (hehe). Cleaned all connectors with cotton bud and little bit of alcohol (since my scotch drink was next to me).
Assembled everything back togother and it is working better than before.
Never found any coffee spots inside. I guess it just needed a good cleaning.
I have pictures, but do not know how to post....So if you want them send me your email.
By the way the LCD TouchScreen for ProntoPro has Part Number .... LFH8P4191A

Mark, it will be best if you email that person. As that person signed up in May of 2002 only posted 4 times. Where his last post was on July 14 of 2002.
If he doesn't repond to his email. Well I dont know what to say. Maybe someone else can help you with it.

Mark,
Even if you don't reach him, he painted a pretty good word picture. Just take your time and re-read the post as you go along.
Joe.
