I have two sony dvd players, a five disc changer DVP NC600 and the DVD SACD player the DVP S9000ES. Problem is that the codes for them appear to be the same. The manuals give me no insight on a second set of commands for each. Anyone know of a workaround or if there is a way to enable a second set of codes so I can program the pronto to work them independantly.

Do both receivers react to the same controller? I had that problem with the Panasonic Showstoppers. It was suggested to manually turn one off. Then when the on button of the remote is pressed one will go on, while the other goes off. Then the remote will only affect one system.

I hope this helps.

Both DVD Players can be worked by either origional remote. They both have "hard" power buttons, but that will shut them off completely and somewhat defetes the remote. I have searched on the forums for about an hour now and I think with sony I am out of luck. No one seems to be able to come up with a secondary set of remote codes. Thanks for the input though. sd

You will need to switch either the IR going to the DVD players or the A/C power to the DVD players, the second idea would only permit one player operation at a time.

xantech makes products that will allow you to control which device gets a the next ir command. essentially, you first identify the device you want to send to and only the ir feed to that device is opened. this requires you to block off the fron of each device so that the only ir feed comes from an ir repeater that is hard wired to a xantech controller. part of what is called gatekeeper technology. it works great!

I'm addressing this identical problem (in this case with two identical model dvd players) with the Xantech RT8.
