I hope the Philips people read these posts! I am holding off until they create 5 hard buttons that would be used very often. They are: (North) Channel up, (South) Channel down, (East) Volume up, (West) Volume down, and finally a button for Mute in the center. A lot of cheap remotes have this configuration and it makes tremendous sense! Thanks for listening Pronto persons! Ron

You could start a whole Color Pronto Sales craze...you could get the talking taco bell dog to say catchy phrases like..."yo quiero...pronto el grando.
or a spin off from fast times at ridgemont high, when a stoner surfer dude says " hey bud, cool pronto"
just a better pronto mack daddy pronto, Phat pronto,

You think Philips wants to make anything easy. They will just leave it as "Pronto". This way they can add more buttons to push when you call an automated customer service phoneline. ex:. Please press 1 if you are calling about the Pronto.
Please press 1 if you are calling about the Color Pronto. Or press 2 for the monochrome version.
If you are sure about this being a Color Pronto, please press 1. Otherwise press 2.
Really?, 1 for yes, 2 for ...... and so on.

I can't stress enough, please Philips, give us hard button direction and transport controls. Four hard buttons at the bottom is better than two, but is NOT enough. Directional up/down/left/right/select and simple transport play/stop/pause/ff/rw would make the remote perfect.

I would hope the new motion sending device can be turned OFF as lounging around on the couch and picking it up to move it will eat up the charge , unless you put it away and set it down quietly. For us channel surfers who keep it in our hand ready for any deadly attack of commercials this will be a night mare.
Philips had better have an upgrade or trade in policy for those of us who are early adopters of their equipment and not leave several thousand users out to dry with a 300 dollar investment . With the alliance with UIEc or whoeve,r they have a database available of 80,000 devices. How about putting it on the net and letting us just get the ones we need. Why keep it all loaded on the Pronto and eating up memory...
Oh by the way the vendor I purchased mine from told me what he does and I now do. He went to Radio Shack and purchased a 12.00 recharger and a 17.00 dollar set of rechargeable NiMhd AA 1500 mAh. This takes care of any 80.00 box to set it on. This charger also has the ability to charge 4 AA, 4 AAA, 1 9V either NiCaD or NiMhd
