Hi everybody,

I'd like to control a motorized screen up/down so I have to buy an IR receiver with stop/up/down positions and I'd like to know if it is possible to buy it without the remote (to save some bucks to buy Pronto) and then learn or insert the codes by ProntoEdit.

The problem is that I need a 220V IR receiver with Italian plug, and I think no one will have that codes to use with prontoedit.

Can a manufacturer of IR receiving products tell me (us) some codes to put in our Prontos to control everything without "learning" from original remotes?

Where can I learn more about IR signaling on the net?

I thank you in advance for your help

Ciao
Paolo

Unless someone else out there has the exact same setup as you, plus a Pronto, plus knows about ProntoEdit, the chances are slim. The current "state" of the Pronto is probably too immature for manufacturers to sit up and take notice that they should be posting their codes, and it's unsure when/if this will occur.

For now, unless you don't mind waiting a long time, you're probably going to need that original remote.

Paolo,

Most IR to relay output units actually run on 12VDC, so this should not present a problem. As to a source for these units, I'd try Xantech. They have their own code set and I can assure you that these codes will get posted at prontoedit.com in CCF files that can be loaded into a Pronto once prontoedit software is released. We use Xantech products and have their remote to learn the codes from to post.
