New Sony Remotes are supposed to be available actually in about a MONTH.

AHP has offered above to "learn" the codes needed and post CCF's accordingly.
Further he has ordered the pioneer remotes to check into further.
I have also inquired about making an in house "learner" by doing a few swaps internally to take a Pronto to a higher level of learning.
I know it can do it, it's just a matter of the best approach to get there. I know AHP and others are aware of and working on a workaround, both here and on the other side of the pond.

a helpful person...

Since Jack mentioned me by name, I should point out that I have not discussed any 'workaround' with Jack, and his comments should not be interpreted as a commitment on Philips (or my) behalf.

I have no problem to make Pronto to learn all the codes for SONY ES. Once I have the cable and ProntoEdit (when?), I will post the CCF's.

I have SONY 50ES. I also have a 30ES remote. I believe that those codes can be used by both 30ES and 50ES, also 925 family.

You mentioned in a 1/28/99 posting that you ordered a remote for the Pioneer Pro 119 so that you can capture CCFs for posting. I want to point out that it is the Pioneer ELITE Pro-1009W projection monitor/receiver that's causing my Pronto learning problems. I've been making posts here for sometime (since November) on that problem. I do hope you will get a remote for the Elite Pro 1009W also so you can capture the codes.

a person just trying to be helpful.

Hi Don,

I'd read postings from both 'Ron H' and "lexman' indicating they couldn't learn codes from the remote for a Pro 119. Somehow I missed the model number in your postings. However, the Elite and non-Elite models share the same IR codes to the best of my knowledge, and once I have the timing, it should be good for most models of that vintage.

I'd just like to add a gentle reminder (not aimed at you, Don, but at some of the other postings and direct emails I've received)... I'm doing this to help out, spread the word, and help people have a positive experience with their Pronto. I'm spending my own time and money to help out here. Please try to keep that in mind.

People are beginning to expect things from me that aren't reasonable. There have been a few occasions in the last week where I've begun to wonder whether I should participate less here.

Does anyone know if the pronto has a problem with the Pioneer Elite DV-09 DVD player? I have this unit and I am a little nervous given the previous threads on Pioneer Elite support.

to AHP or APJTTBH,

I knew it would happen sooner or later.....

You know same thing happened a while ago to Jack Schultz.....

People were flaming him just because he was selling the pronto at retail.....

Somebody was even decadent enough to call his selfmade cables the "$100 cable".....

I just hope you do recognize all the people appreciating your time and effords to help other people, and not be turned off by some egos who don't think of anything else but their own problem and how to solve it at any cost (cost to others, that is)
