Hi,
I’m looking for some advice, we’ve been using a Pronto RU940 for 10+ years and still very happy with it but recently it just stopped working - it’s totally dead although the charger is still working and the battery shows charge.
Ideally I’d just buy a replacement but obviously they’re not easily found in good condition so what are my alternatives?
Is there a slightly newer model that uses the same program and will upload my existing files?
I’m very out of touch with remotes as the RU940 has been so reliable so any other suggestions gratefully received,
TIA

If you are not using RF extender or using the RF part of the remote to control EU lights meaning you have a specific RF frequency required, I'd recommend the TSU7500 or a TSU9600 as a suitable replacement.
A Marantz RC5000i might fit the bill if you can find one. Same form factor, same memory. Plus that remote does not do 'beeps' but does support multiple Jumps such that you can do simple animation.
Note that with the 7500, you will get color graphics with a 320x240 screen. With the 9600, you get 640x480 screen. You'd need to redo your graphics a bit to work on the 9600 but it is the most capable whereas the 7500 feels sturdier in the hand.
Be aware that all Philips Pronto-branded remotes are no longer made.
