I'm using quotes here a couple of times to indicate that I think I'm using the correct term and those terms are totally subject to your correction... please.

I understand that if "commands are not named" or something to that effect, they may not work or the ccf might crash. What are the requirements for labeling?

This comes up now as I'm putting together a file of about a hundred commands using "Set IR" to paste hex commands into the file. I've "assigned a name" to the button with text that's the button label. After pasting the hex, the edit screen has only a capital "C" as a label.

Is more of a label than that needed?

Please help me understand what's needed here. Why would be even cooler to know.

Thanks.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Just needs a label. A single character is fine. New IR codes added in sofware are labelled 'Learned'.

My understanding is that it does not crash the remote, but rather the simulator.

Edit...

Ernie, maybe my statement was incorrect about simulator not liking buttons with no labels. Maybe it is the other way around. See my reply to your Default CCF thread.
