Hi folks,

Well.. I thought I would add this to the thread as others searching for user reactions might be likely to read the thread based on the subject..

I too got mine.. thanks Jack.. although the holidays and UPS got the best of me.. taking a full 10 days to get it to me. :-(

The unit is a thrill. I have used every feature I can figure is available at this point without software.. and a feture which I didn't see in the manual..

But there are a few really great features which are in there that might be skipped over..

First of all.. the ability to tell your pre-amp to switch to the correct input when you select a device from the Home page OR the device list is great.. even better though.. is the ability to NOT switch the pre-amp.. but still go to the device pages for another device.. this is really handy while programming the remote.. while watching TV, holding the "Left" button while selecting a device from the device list, switches to the device's pages.. without switching the pre-amp input.. very kewl.

The remote is exactly as advertized.. it has replaced all the remotes for my pre-amp, tv, dvd, cd-changer, tuner, cable, md and vhs. That's 8 folks, lots of regained table-space.. and with a new AC-3 decoder on the way soon.. that will be another which I have no doubt the Pronto will expertly handle.]

I have had only one bit of trouble, which I hope to work around with the software when it comes..

This involves my SONY MD. The remote for the unit allows me to edit all titles. It shares the buttuns for letters in upper and lower case.. and numbers. Unfortunately, SONY used 2 buttons to switch between upper/lower and numeric respectively. While the Pronto template has pre-set alpha and numeric pages.. the inability to make a button to jump from one to the other makes titles a bit frustrating.. something I hope to do with software.

It's not a shortcoming of the Pronto really, but a design flop from SONY.

Overall.. and I learned the hard way.. this Pronto is amazing. If you are shopping for a remote that is truely universal.. and wil handle whatever you throw at it.. Pronto is the only way to go.

Beep,

Pierre.
