Well, I have always paid quite a bit of attention to this remote since I first heard about it and now with the software about to be released I don't think I can live without one. However, over Christmas I got to see one up close and personal for the first time. Everything was pretty much as I expected except for the brightness. I know the contrast can be adjusted but I was sort of disappointed with how clear the LCD screen was given a bright room. Now when my home theater is on I am sure you can see the remote great but what about when the lights are on for casual listening. Has anyone found that seeing the icons is difficult? Are there any other adjustments other than contrast to help out with bright lighting?

If the lights just aren't bright enough to read the LCD, I just hit the backlight button and everythings just fine. I just have to turn pronto the way it doesn't reflect the lightbulbs directly :)

If you find the screen hard to read, just adjust the light sensor to automatically come on all the time - it's very easy to see this way. No LCD is "easy to see" with just ambiant lighting.

The light level at which Pronto automatically switches on the backlight is adjustable from one of the setup screens. You should be able to set it up so that when the ambient light isn't bright enough to read it clearly 'reflectively', the backlight will come on automatically.

It's a personal preference, and varies with the conditions (type of lighting, angle, contrast setting, etc) so it's adjustable. And there's always the backlight button on the side, to force it on.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I must have one! It is time to sell an amp to afford it :) Thanks again.
