I have a CCF file created with Windows 2000 and PE2 about a year ago. I now have WinXPpro and PE4.03. The CCF file works great in the Pronto remote but the emulator has some screens that when you go to them it just closes down (it was this way on both versions of Windows and Pronto Edit software). I beleive I have traced the problem to some Sony discrete codes for Video1 thorugh 6. If I remove the IR code that references one of the video inputs the emulator works fine. The IR codes do have a name in the properties, name section. I will gladly email this CCF for anyone to check out on their emulators. The CCF controls a Sony HDTV 57" TV, Sony Rec, Sony DVD, Dishnetork 501 & 6000 revceivers, RCA VCR, wireless headphones, and some X10 things.

Thanks
Dave

The emulator has problems with codes with no name. Open PE and get to the button properties and then actions, and give a name to the code. PE2 used to delete the name if you messed around with a code, and it would not let you rename it.

This is a long known problem. If you pasted a hex code into an IR Code using PE2, the IR Code ended up with a blank name. This causes the emulator to crash (but not your Pronto).

You can fix the problem by giving the IR code a name using PE4.05. Unfortunately, the emulator that comes with PE4.05 still crashes on blank names.

Thanks fella's. I was puting the name for the IR in properties, name. Found the place I needed to be was in Action, then double click the IR command and the put a name in the label field. Every thing works fine now. Spent several hours this afternoon looking for the problem. Thanks for getting me on track.
