Does anyone have the discrete power ON / OFF for the new Sony DE series recievers ? I tried the one on the site but it no longer works. Thanks.

Maybe these do the trick. I have an STR DE-875 and they work flawlessly.

Andre-

Did you find that all the "standard" Sony discrete soundfield & tuner presets from the older models didn't work on your STR-DE875?

Barry,
the soundfield codes didn't work :-(
The tuner presets work fine, but I learned them directly from the Sony remote.

Andre thanks for posting. Those dont work for the new recievers. Those are the ones I was using for my old Sony reciever. Sony either changed them or removed them :-(

Does anyone have any other ones to try ?

Andre-

Too bad... Sony used to be pretty dependable for IR control - I've noticed a trend starting last year to abandon some discretes on the A/V receivers & VCRs.

Did you get direct station tuner discretes or just up/down?

Barry,
by learning from the original remote I got direct access to the tuner presets 1-9. I only use the A bank, so there was no problem.

It's not that they took out the discretes, but now use all new code set. The factory default is mode AV2, you can change your receivers back to AV1. Check the manual, and/or do a Author search for "immier" in the sony forums.

This is how you get all new Sony recievers to work with the Discrete On/Off codes:

On the factory remote, HOLD the USE MODE button and press the AV1 button.

On the reciever, click the CUSTOMIZE button and use the < or > button to select AV1.

The discretes will now work. By default, the recievers and remotes are set to AV2. This is why the discretes no longer work. If you want, you can always revert back to AV2 although I dont see any reason to (Do the above but select AV2).

Why did they switch code sets? Will I lose anything by switching? Will my new Sony remote quit working? Are there no discretes in the AV2 set or do we just not know what they are?

What we know is no other remote knows the new set, not even the newest sony remote. The only problem in changing is that some lower end receivers can only change the receiver, not their remote. Feel sorry for the ones who bought systems, they can change at all. Ive answered this same question in 6 forums, thanks to Kevin, I now have place to send them for instructions.
