I went back to my local dealer and had him go through the calibration in the setup menu (I think this particular unit may be malfunctioning as he hard a very hard time getting it to recognize the upper left corner). Even so, afterward the sensitivity was much better. I was able to use a firm press of my fingertip consistently and to a certain extent the pad of my finger worked too. I was even able to use my thumb with some success! It wasn't perfect, but it was to a point I think I can get used to.

The end result was that I parted with $360 plus tax for my very own new Pronto. The first thing I did when I got home was take the stylus from my TAE9000ES remote and calibrate the Pronto. It works fine and I'm now ready to start programming.

Thanks again to all for the suggestions. Kudos to George Mills for the calibration tip.

Greg,

I have the E9000ES and have not been able to program the following.

1. Sound field select and any of the additional adjustments within the soundfields. (pretty much anything that requires 2 way communication between the remote and the preamp)
2. Scrolling through the different devices (mode +/-).
3. Equilizer Bank
4. Audio Split

Probably some other commands also, I'm hoping that Prontoedit will help with some of these commands.

David
