Hello,

I bought my Nevo in November and had a not so funny experience with the touchscreen:
While using the pen=everything is fine, but when I start to use my finger tips or nail of my finger the Nevo shows very often that the specific button on the screen was activated 2 or three times (meaning the animation of the pushed button is running 2 or three times).
That would not be a problem but also the IR code is also sent out 2 or 3 times. This of course results eg by selecting channels, that the TV is jumping on channel 55 or 555 when pressing the 5.

I did so far: recalibartion (tens of times), resets, new Firmware, new projects (with several homepages, with one), new codes dowloaded, also the NEVO itself was replaced by the dealer! But the problem is still there, also with the new NEVO. I am very helpless now.

Is there any chance to reach the system settings eg to adjust the screen/mouse sensitivy/reaction-time, like on all other PocketPC devices?

Thanks for every hint or idea which may help!

BR

i only had this problem the 1st day due to my fingernail hitting the button before the tip of my finger causing 2 presses. i doubt after all you've been through this is what you're doing, but it seems wierd you would get 2 faulty products in a row...?

sounds like operator error to me....
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

That issue can rarely happen to me when I super quickly tap the screen with the tip of my finger nail. I find that the screen works perfectly if I just use my finger instead of my nail.
I've been using the remote for almost half a year now and have rarely seen it though.

Hello,

thanks for your reports. Obviously there is room for some kind of improvement. Of course in my case it could be that my finger is somehow special, or I am just too stupid ;-)

However, adjusting the sensitivy will reduce this problem down to 0.
Is someone already digging in and having acces to the OS?

@ Stealth X: I had this funny experience as well. Always after calibration the problem is very obvious, but not touching the screen for several hours it is much better then (but still not very satisfying).

do you have shakey hand? that really could be your problem. its second nature now but i really had to make an effort to give a firm press with the pad of my finger, also making sure my nail didnt touch.

No, not really. BUt you are right a shaky finger is much worse with this screen.

As I said: The only solution (also for older people;-))) is to adjust the sensitivy and/or "threshold". - Where are the system Gurus or does someone know about "hidden keys" for accessing OS?
