I've been having a blast setting up the Nevo, and thanks to everyone here for all the help so far. So I'm programming along and I've got a bunch of things I want to do, but not sure if I can make it do them or not or if I'm asking too much. Figured I'd ask and see if you guys have tried this before or if it just can't be done (yet, I'm hoping!)

Is there anyway to set a variable and then reference it later? For example, if I click on SACD, set a variable like CURSYS='SACD', which later I can check? My initial idea is that I want the hard buttons to work regardless of what page it is on, i.e. I might select SACD but then navigate away from that page for some reason, I still want the + and - hard buttons to change tracks on the SACD even if I'm looking at the Tuner page. I'd also like the Home button to take me to the home page for the currently running system, i.e. SACD, Radio, iTunes, etc...

One more is that I'd like to be able to read in a setting from say a z-wave light and modify it and then re-set it. i.e. read in the current level, increment it by a set amount, 10, 25, 50, etc.. and then set the light to the new value.

Any thoughts?

You can do what you'd like without variables - you can use the Inheritance values for a page collection to change how your hard buttons are programmed.

There is also a Jump to Last page viewed jump command which can be used along with how you set your inheritance.

I'm not sure on the Zwave lighting yet as I don't have my Zwave switches yet to play with.

Thanks for the response, I'm a bit closer now but not quite there. I got the inheritance to work, but the trick is figuring out which device is currently active. For example, if I'm listening to the SACD I want the + and - to change tracks, but if I'm listening to the radio I want to change presets, regardless of which page I'm on. I have one page that I use for lighting/zwave, which I change to alot. On that page it has no idea what device I have tuned to, so it doesn't know if it should send commands to the SACD/Tuner/iPod, etc... I suppose I could just send out commands to all of them, but that seems kind of sloppy to me.

Thanks for the jump last page, I had not noticed that before. Is there a way to use an if/else based on what page you are on? i.e. If on page X jump to last page viewed, else jump to page X.
