I just purchased a new Q50 today from an authorized dealer (thank goodness). I brought it home and the screen was all messed up was real fuzzy and unreadable. I went back to my dealer and exchanged it. Got it home, charged it up. I powered it on and everything seems fine for about 20 seconds. Then the screen goes blank (except for the backlighting on the screen stays on until it times out). The remote is completely functional (I loaded my configuration file into the remote), it just has no working screen, although if you know where to push, it still sends the right commands. What is up with this and why are these things so finicky? For this kind of money you would expect some better quality control.
My dealer does not have any more in stock so who knows when I will get another replacement. I am not a happy camper. If anyone has any advice, please let me know.

Just wanted to update everyone on this situation. It seems that the 3-4 hour initial charge recommended in the owner's manual is inadequate. After leaving the Q50 on the charger for a solid 10 hours, I now am exhibiting no problems!!!

Another update... my screen stopped working again, and this time with a full charge. I guess I will have to replace the unit. Bummer.

I got my replacement Q50 this weekend. No more problems. What a great remote!!!

now go download the 2.0 software and get some zwave devices in your house!
