Hello All,

I've been using the S70 and NC50 for more than a month for an up coming demo and have found programing the remote and usability very good. I have since the beginning had several problems with the remote which has now been determined defective for reasons I don't know yet... I think it behooves us to watch for the issues that may or may not be systemic... I have read several post that mention some issues but do not see a post where it easy to find all issues list so lets do that here.

Issue 1: Icons would pile up on transitioned to pages and it would be impossible to read or determine which were usable...

Suggest fix from support ...Reflash...
Result... No change

Issue 2: Soon after initial use the remote no longer would charge either in the cradle or via USB (never charged via USB in fact)

Fix.... Return under warranty for new units...

Hope this helps

Great remote I hope this get nipped.

I have had my S70 since July and haven't had any problems with it. I also work for the distributor in Canada - and I have not had one S70 with any problems that we've sold.
its been a killer product! I can't wait for the new release of StudioPro to come out.

Hi,

I too have had lots of experience with the S70.

As yet I have not experienced these issues or any other.

I would like to see a job file with the transitioned pages fault. Please contact me and Ill see what can be done.

Hello All!

I want to clarify that I've been working with UEI and Worthington and both have been topnotch! I could not ask for better support.

I received the new remote and Nevo Connect last week and finally got around to setting both up. I re-installed my previous setup file or at least the last one I had before the other one died and all seemed fine...Until tonight....The pages keep building up on one another as if the pages are accumulating. I have a bunch a clients who are very interested in the S70 because of the ZWAVE integration, which my house is full of, and I have had to delay the demo because of this 4 times... This is quickly becoming a missed opportunity for my company and Nevo... I am very disheartened about the prospects.

I will upload the Config for the S70 and a small video of the problem... The video focus is bad the distance is too close...but once you install the config you'll see that what the problem is compared to the video.

I am using a Vista Machine to design and upload...I used many channel icons from the RTI forum (thank you for the excellent work ) many customs background and have a heavy web page selection...

I'm surprised that this is not happening to anyone else...but I doubt I've just killed two units...It has to be something in the config...

Thanks Much!

it sounds like it might be corrupt.

but the battery charing issue,
thats def a hardware issue.

Hi Mo,

I'm not sure what it is...It emulates fine...with out said problem...loads just fine in studio and on the remote...firm where is up-to-date and from factory still...

I know this...I can't go on maybe on this...I can not sell this Item and have the issues coming back to haunt me.... I just needs to be solid... If corruption is an issue that the device should have a "defrag', chkdsk, or repair functions...in addition to checksum comparison of the the uploaded file and the config on the device... I don't understand where the Corruption could occur?

Thanks

the best solution would be to recreate file . .

you can copy and paste from the first file to the second file page group by page group or page by page.

or just recreate.

ive set up about 20 nevo remotes so far
and have never come upon said issue.

Hi,

What version of NSP are you using?
1.0 or 1.1?

The newest....with updates...Prior to even hooking up the device. I followed install and up date directions verbatim. Firmware came up to date out of the box...

As a distributor - we've sold over 240 Q50s and roughly about 100 S70 since their release. This issue has never come up. I'm wondering if you have a weird virus on your computer or a problem with the .Net Framework installed onto your computer.
Maybe try uninstalling both NSP and .Net Framework then re-installing both.

Hello,

This PC is SERIOUSLY CLEAN - I own an IT security company, we also do home automation, media integration and custom VB interfaces (we use .net 2.0 everyday)....You could eat off this PC ;)

Everything reinstalled... have not tried to do a new config yet...will do that Wednesday.

I'll let you know what happens.

I have 2 s70 and they both have a 30% failure rate connecting to the nc50. Nevo suggest I go wireless. I have replaced the antennas due to a known manufacturing issue. I have also replaced the nc50. I am at a loss. The nc50 is located less than 10 feet away.

Try this:

Factory reset each remote - go into setting, Advanced, Z-Wave - Factory Reset.
Factory reset the NC-50 - on the bottom there is a reset button. Hold down for 10sec then disconnect power. Plug power back in.
Re-load your config onto each remote. Then take one of the remotes that you want as your primary and do the Z-Wave associations with the NC-50. Do an optomize once complete. The second remote once your config has been loaded should come up - Start New Zwave network or add to exisiting. Choose add to exisiting. Follow the steps. Optomize the second remote in the location it will typically be used in.

If this doesn't work - and you are getting the same results - check to see if there are any phones in the environment at are at 1.9Ghz. DECT 6.0 Technology Phones have found to interfere with the Z-wave 900Mhz.

Also - if you config has alot of learned IR and Hex Codes - those are transmitted dynamiclly from the remote - not the connect which inturn takes up all 40Kb/sec of the Z-Wave bandwidth. Try to stick with IR Codes from the Database when possible.
