Nevo is working on a 2-way RS232 solution for the Sonance iPort and also the Russound CAV6.6 and CAM6.

Hi,

NSP 2.0 was shown at Cedia. This particular feature was on display at 2 stands, Nevo and Sonance.

All things being equal we "should" see it this year.

when using the sonance iport with rs232 to the nevo connect,
and the future software/firmware . .
you will be able to see ipod metadata right on the nevo's screen . .

maybe, maybe not ;)

The simple answer is...

It wouldn't be much of a 2-way driver if it didn't, now would it.

I was at CEDIA and got to see this for myself. Yes, you get metadata like when a song is playing you can see artist/album/song info. Plus, you can browse the music library as well and select the song you want to play as you navigate through the interface.

The one limitation that I saw was that you do not get the actual album art on the screen. The guy there told me something about how sending pictures through Z-wave would have been really slow. It makes sense to me since Z-wave has such a low bandwidth.

It was actually cool to see this working on the lil' ol' NevoQ50 as well.
