I've always been a big proponant of remotes that can be primarily controlled w/ one hand. I've been very intrigued by the NevoSL & RTI's T3.
I've had trouble finding details on the NevoSL, such as if there is a tilt-activated backlight. I would love a RC review on the NevoSL & T3, but I realize a lot goes into those review and much be difficult to produce.

I have been selling and programming the SL for about 3 weeks now as well as being an RTI, Pronto and URC MX dealer. So my experience, in short, is as follows.
NSL has tilt activated backlight as well as a button on the side that can turn the backlight on AND off.
Many complain that the rechargable battery doesnt last too long, but I haven't had problems (then again, my customers, thus far, keep it in the cradle daily).
I posted some issues (that aren't too bad) in another thread a few minutes ago, subject: ..Macros Slow...? The thing I hate most is that NevoLink does not work to relay IR in a standalone situation, You have to have a wireless router CLOSE by, too.
The design and potential is the thing that has drawn me and kept me thus far.

curtis, i got the nevo for xmas AND LOVE IT!!! it doesnt have any tilt feature(that i'm aware of anyway), but the backlight button is easy to feel in the dark, also the 4 function keys under the screen will activate the light, or you can touch the screen, so the tilt feature isnt really an issue. in fact i forgot to charge it the other night and was riding the couch all the following day so by the end of the day my battery indicator looked as low as it could get -so in fact i was appreciating the fact that the backlight didnt come on everytime i picked it up or used the lower hard keys! also i should mention that you DO NOT require Wifi unless you are using the media extender functions or controlling devices in another room or out of IR range. i have the wifi turned off completely, and the IR range i should mention is great.

Hmmm, conflicting reports regarding a tilt-sensor. I still get the impression the NevoSL doesn't have one.
I'm also not getting the best impression regarding battery life. Of course I'd typically dock it at the end of viewing, but I can't guarantee it wouldn't be left on the couch for a day+ here and there.
But what a great looking remote.

No tilt function.
Battery life 7-8hrs with WiFi set to never time off (Wifi is a HUGE battery hog). With Wifi set to NEVER come on, battery life moves from being measured in hours to days. I've left mine off the dock for 2 days and still had 75% or more of battery remaining with moderate (5 in the family) use. With Wifi set to on with a more reasonable "time to off", it'll of course be somewhere in between.

Even after a firmware upgrade battery indicator seems to never be accurate. I know my battery life off the cradle can last me a few days, with minimal use and wi-fi off. But it would complain of low battery when I try to upload a project even though my indicator shows more than half full, but yet I can use the remote with no problems.

I've seen that before too. Usually if you wait a few seconds and send the download command again, it works fine. My only guess to what's going on here is that the Nevo is trying to ensure that it won't run out of power during a download which, I'd guess, might leave you in a mess. I do realize that sometimes it does this when there certainly seems to be plenty of power but, again, it was just a guess. Although I have seen this it is usually a short interruption while it either confirms that it has enough OR gathers enough power to accomplish a download. Either way it has never taken very long unless my Nevo has been down to the bottom of the power indicator, at least in my experience.

I remember that when I attended Nevo training some months ago, that the trainer told me that even though the NevoSL charges while it's connected to the USB port of a computer so that it won't die on you while it's connected (which is pretty cool), it's not charging as fast as when it's on the cradle. Plus, when a config is being uploaded, more power is being used up than is being charged, so theoretically it could completely discharge while a config is being loaded and that's why they require the battery life to be about half way or so.
