Hi friends,

I have been using Nevo Sl for almost 1year now and all of a sudden my remote no longer charges. I put my remote for charge every night.

Now what are my options? I have opened the remote to take a look @ the battery pack and I have never seen such a battery before. What are the batteries suitable for the remote?

Thanks for the help guys...

It may not be the battery.

Try charging the remote over USB.

sydinstaller, i guess you were right.... it was the charger... i pluged the USB and the remote charges just fine...

Damn ... The charger lights up and stuff... and shows charging but never charges... Any particular reseason the charger would malfunction like this???

Hi,

It's not 100% the charger, it could be the charge board in the remote.

I suggest trying a new power pack. It is the easiest and cheapest test. Just match the volts, mA and polarity.

If that dosn't fix it I suggest getting an approved service agent to look at it or ask Nevo to service it.

I'm surprised I was told by dave from remotequest that it wasn't something do-able... as I'm having other issues with it too...

I got the same problem, although I thought it was the battery too as the screen shows it charging but as of 2 nights ago, the remote just crashes within a couple of seconds of been removed from the cradle, going to go and read the voltages on the charger and report back.

ok, the battery seems to be holding enough charge and stays working as long as I don't press any buttons. As soon as I press any of the buttons it locks up (screen goes blank and the hard buttons back light stay lit). It has done this from time to time ever since I had it but a hard reset always fixed it, understandable as it's windows based ;) but now it's a permanent problem.

Another problem I have is the pc software, nevo studio, I only have v1.0 on cd that came with it and I can't get it to install on my vista machine, even with xp compatabilty on. I rang a UK dealer who was no help. Does anyone have Nevo studio 2.0.2 thay could upload or email me? I can't even access the dealer login on Nevo's site. That says I have the wrong username or password when I know they are correct. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME SOMEBODY!

Just for the record, UEI had been a little dodgey on what repairs they were willing to do. So far, the only remote repair they conceeded to do was a battery repair on the Nevo SL.
