When I initially synced the Q50 with Nevo Connect, I made the mistake of entering the last 4 digits of the Nevo ID number from the back of the remote instead of entering the last four of the Nevo Connect.

I did reset the Nevo Connect via the software while connected with the USB, but the remote will not sync again with Nevo Connect.

I assume I will have to reset the Q50, but am not sure If I am correct, nor sure of how to reset the Q50.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Touch the very top portion of the Q50's screen to bring down the menu. Select Settings, then select the "Advanced" button in the bottom right corner of the scree. Then select the "Z-wave" option. Once here, you'll see another "Advanced" button at the bottom of the screen, select it. Now press the "Factory Default" button.

Once you've finished with factory defaulting, now try to get the NevoConnect connected.

Oh yeah, and I'm not sure if you corrected your initial mistake, but make sure to put in the correct 4 digits of the Nevo ID number for the NevoConnect and then re-download the configuration to the Q50 so that it'll know who to talk to.

Ry-dog,

Thank you for you help and guidance, it is greatly appreciated.

I am also grateful that you added your last sentence telling me to re-download the software to the Q50. I couldn't get the NC to take, and re-read your post.

My issue is now corrected.... thanks again.

*EDIT* Under tools>manage device connections>select nevo controller, which brings up nevo controller manager, I notice the old 4 digit number is still under nevo id. Should I attempt to change this? If so, I can't edit the line as it appears to not be an area that can be changed.

I do sometimes lose the Q50 due to a connection issue, and have to find network several times before it takes. Not sure if this is related.

Also, I have a Mac Mini which has Windows installed via bootcamp, and intend on using windows only when programming the Nevo.

Anyone know if this will create an issue with the nevo network when switching back to Mac which will distribute a different IP?

yatch,

I'm not a Mac person, so I won't be able to help you with that issue.

You mentioned that you went into the Manage Device Connections menu to look up the NevoID number. I do not think this has anything to do with your issue. You see, the NevoID number that you see here is the NevoID number for the NevoQ50 remote, which is not really important in your instance. The NevoID number that you need to look for is for the NevoConnect base station.

In order to find that, go to the Nevo Ecosystem tab in the upper right corner of the screen. Click the plus sign right next to where it says "NevoConnect(s)". When you clicked on it, how many options show up? Hopefully one, but it there are more than one, this most likely means your configuration has a wrong NevoConnect. If you do have two options shown here, double click on each one of them and double check the NevoID that shows up. If one of them is wrong, you can just right-click the wrong NevoConnect and delete it from the project. After you've done that, I'd do another factory reset on the remote and then download the config (sans the wrong NevoConnect). If you did have to remove a NevoConnect, make sure to double check the connections chart for the correct one (you might have had some devices associated to the other NevoConnect and thus they will not be linked to a base station anymore).

If your config didn't have two (or more) NevoConnects, I'm not sure what the issue could be. If you keep having the re-connection issue, you might want to call Nevo tech support for help. I haven't had any issues what so ever with the RF performance of the NevoQ50/NevoConnect combos that I have programmed thus far so I'm sure you'll issue can be taken care of quickly.
