What's the difference between the Nero SL and Q50 models? Are these units superior to or compare to the Pronto 9400? I need a remote that will do 'all' that a remote should do. Programming should be fairly easy; although I'm OK with a learning curve. I seem to be leaning toward the NeroSL, but want to make sure it's for all the right reasons. I'm just not experienced enough yet to know if I'm covering all of the bases. Please advice. Thanks!

hey bud,
the NevoQ50 is the newest remote in the Nevo family. it uses ZWave RF to communicate with its RF Base Station as well as having an IR Blaster in the remote for line of site applications. I use both in my house. My NevoSL is using as an IR only remote. Stay away from the Wifi as it is really sketchy. The Q50 has more hard buttons on it vs the SL. But the screen on the Q50 is smaller which is fine for some people.
The best thing with the Q50 is the NevoConnect - RF Base Station. 6 Addressable Multi-ports. Each port can be programmed to do IR, IR /w Video Sensing, Voltage Sensing, and 1 Way RS-232. Nevo offers the Sensing adapters separately. There will be a replacement for the SL sometime in 2008 and I've heard that it will have ZWave and Wifi. Wifi will be used to Media Managment and it will have a built in Web browser. For the price - a NevoQ50 and NevoConnect is the best value vs Pronto, RTI and URC.

Cheers,
Droo
